<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Skycow @ Jul 3 2007, 02:55 PM) </div> the glove box light is not supposed to turn off
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Skycow @ Jul 3 2007, 05:55 PM) </div> No, no, no - the glove box light NEVER goes off. It's an LED, so will neither drain the battery nor burn out for many years. It's on whenever any lights are on. Designed that way.
While waiting out recovery from bilateral knee replacement in May, Fiona's "smile" is starting to turn into a glare. I have had severe Prius withdrawal symptons for several weeks now - and I'm very anxious to drive again. Each day when I limp out to the mailbox through the garage, she seems to be asking "today?" Maybe by the end of the week - certainly don't want to take a chance on being slow to get to the brake in an emergency. Now if I can remember how to drive a Prius. . . . (foot on the brake, press the power button, put in gear, go - right?)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Grandma Judy @ Jul 3 2007, 07:38 PM) </div> You got it - BUT remember to buckle your seat belt! Wishing you a speedy recovery. Being without a Prius is being without sunshine.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(pola @ May 14 2007, 01:12 PM) </div> In that case, get the silver! If more people keep getting SPM, then it WON'T be easy to find in a parking lot anymore... time to cut off membership!!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveinOlyWA @ Jul 3 2007, 03:31 PM) </div> Unfortunately those pictures are not my vehicle and just one of the many Prius (and other vehicles) pictures I have stored on our server. They were originally found via Google search "tideland pearl". When I showed those pics to my Wife she fell in love with THAT color, it but it was too late to purchase that color (tideland pearl) since we only started our Prius "interest" and search in 2007 and wanted to buy new. We ended up buying an '07 Touring in Silver Pine Mica (Pkg. 5). Here's a good link to a Prius color chart of various model years: http://john1701a.com/prius/prius-colors.htm .... unfortunately it makes the Tideland Pearl look like Olive Drab and does NOT do it proper justice !!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Wryter @ Jul 4 2007, 11:24 AM) </div> That's exactly why we bought one....
Busy this holiday "spiffing up" my beloved "Cara Verdi." Using Meguiar's leather cleaner/conditioner - makes the leather look and feel even more luxurious, and my wife is quite impressed! One note - use the stuff in the bottle, not the "rich leather WIPES." The wipes contain silicone, the bottled stuff does not. Better for the leather. . . Later this week - LED lights go in all inside slots - white in dome, red in map lights, and blue on door "courtesty" lights. Cool. . . . .(I hope!)
I don't think the official SPM photos look much like the real car either. Which is odd because it looks real in normal everyday pictures, just not the overly touched-up photos Toyota seems to love.
I Just got my 2007 Prius Pkg #6. Yesterday. I thought I wanted the Barcelona, but once I got a look at the Silver Pine Mica I changed my mind! Here's Mine! [attachmentid=9427]
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Grandma Judy @ May 10 2007, 10:46 PM) </div> I got the SPM on Memorial Day -- it was the only one they had on the lot that wasn't white. I wasn't crazy about it at first, but I'm beginning to love it! I have also received several compliments on the color.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Wryter @ Jul 3 2007, 02:05 PM) </div> Of course the Prius has a smile on it's face. That is wy I named mine Lightning Mcqueen after the car in Pixar movie "CARS" It really shows up in my crunched avitar. The middle name "Green" I added later.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(finally_hybrid @ Jul 4 2007, 11:45 PM) </div> Oh, my! Beautiful car! Beautiful scenery! But what are those "bumps" in the background? We don't have anythinig like doze down heah in Swampville, Flawed-duh! (triple grin) Love the wheels - wish I'd held out for the touring model. Sigh. Lessons learned. CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the Pine Mica Silver club! Long may we wave!
When my wife and I sat down with the sales dudes and started talking about what we wanted, he showed me the brochure and pointed out the colors. I saw red, green, blue and various shades of gray ranging from black to white. I have driven a gray car (Mazda 626) for the last twenty years and I think I've come out of my shell enough to buy a car with some color. Red is just a bit too much (cops like to pull those over, don't they?) so it was a choice between blue and green. Blue is a nice color and all but I really like green. I love my green car. I'm not sure how this shade of green translates to "Silver Pine Mica" but I really like the color. The fact that my car is "green" in other ways is just a bonus.
We have this color too and love it...When I drove up it home the first day my neighbors were doing the driveway party thing...one of them said the car looked like "Kermit"...green like the frog...sort of cute....so our Prius has been called "Kermit" ever since. Having had a couple black cars, all I can say is that this car doesn't show any where near the swirls and scratches that a black car does...and it doesn't "look" dirty any where near as fast....even if it is....now I spend my time admiring our green Prius rather than spending time trying to keep it clean...like our black Highlander!
When we were considering buying our silver 05 from my wife's grandfather, who told us he had ordered a new Pine Mica version, I thought, when he described it, "Uugh. That SOUNDS like such a 'grandpa color.'" After accompanying him to the dealership to pick up his car, and to buy his former silver one, I have to admit I liked it. Quite a bit. With his tan interior it is quite ravishing. Though I have seen one with grey interior, like our silver one has, and I don't like that near as much. The most common color I've seen on the road, though, is Seaside Pearl--and is the color my bro-in-law bought--and I can say that totally hasn't grown on me. But you all can have your fancy Pine Mica club. I hope it will satisfy you that you also have admirers from outside.
Add me to the SPM Club! I had many chances to buy silver, white, red, magnetic gray (love that color!), and even black, but the only color I really wanted was green. I'll allow it to be called Silver Pine Mica, but I see it as Green -- through and through! I had a shot at a SPM with the dark gray interior (leather), but I bit my lip and waited out the 8 more weeks until my order arrived -- SPM w/ NW package (bisque leather). This car looks great! I don't think I've ever liked the look of any car I've driven more than this car (except, perhaps, that '68 Camaro Rally Sport, blue w/ white racing stripes & a black vinyl top, SS wheels and a 327 that made the car more dangerous than anything else on the road). I'd post a picture, but I'll need to drive far to find the beautiful mountain scenery. Can I just use some of these pictures to show people how beautiful this car looks?
My little green Prius, package #2, is scheduled for delivery Thursday!!! I cannot wait to put my Chevy S-10 into retirement. I've been working on personalized plates. Ohio's DMV web site (www.oplates.com) makes it pretty easy to see what's available. My wife is a freelance writer/editor and I write software, we're both a little left-of-center.
