I think V8cobrakid does some auto-xing with his Prius.

My race car broke, so I tracked my Prius this past weekend at Thunderhill Raceway in California. I am an instructor for the National Auto Sport Association and currently club race with the SCCA. Needless to say, I got some very strange looks as I was driving around the paddock wearing a helmet in my Prius. On track, I got about 27 miles per gallon, but I was taking it easy. I was lapped twice by a Porsche race car. It was pretty fun to go through turns side by side with Porsche GT3's and the like. Hopefully, my race car will be repaired by the next NASA event. ;)

My Prius has been to two race tracks so far. I'm going to try to get it on Laguna Seca and Infineon Raceway in the next couple of months. :D

    LOL small world!

I was president of Norcal-LS1 for a few years. We would sponsor one NASA event a year down at Marina. So I bet you know Todd, Lee and Brian and all the regulars from the Norcal club? They mentioned they saw someone take a Prius on the course which is why they were pushing me so hard. Try and get some pics next to some GT3s or ZO6's hahahaha

Not bad on the gas milage. I took my Prius drag racing at Sacramento and after 15 runs the MFD still showed 42mpg avg. :)

Sorry you had a problem with my poor spelling. I have pretty much ignored spelling when putting concepts on paper from the time I was no longer being graded on spelling. Apparently you still are being graded on your spelling? Bringing the concept out and onto paper has always been more generouly rewarded in my experience, than spelling a phonetically bizarre set of words that we have in the english language.

Oh, and to answer your first question - I have not worn out my engineering training yet. B)

I am a highly trained engineer myself. Since becoming Director of Engineering and shouldering the subsequent responsibility for reviewing the work of my highly trained minions, I have discovered that a large percentage of highly trained engineers can not spell, punctuate, or communicate in any meaningful way with other members of their own species.

    Haha, well spoken!

    (I'm an engineer, too.)

Well, I'm running my tires (which are rated at 51 psi) at 51/49. I feel side gusts pull or push, but haven't had trouble staying in my lane. I also have the BT plate, but can't swear one way or the other how it is affecting handling. I didn't do enough control testing before its installation.

Not all of us engineers are of the same speacies.

    There are mechanical engineers,
    Chemical Engineers,
    Electrical Engineers,
    Cival Engineers,
    Computer engineers,
    structureal angineers,
    railroad engineers
    and so on.

By species you mean other engineers don't you? I hear they also have problems talking to humans. lol
