Importing a Prius into Canada???

has some similar discussion. Its by some one out east (relatively) near you anyway.

A few of us West Coasters have imported successfully.
Anecdotally - it seems the hard part is finding a dealer in any of the border states that is willing to sell to you though.

I haven't found a way to get the full metric conversion - I'd like to know if there was a way - anyone out there have any info on this?

Attn Americans and other "foreigners" - this is for Canada.

I just checked (of course as I just purchased my Prius). Dealer had no clue. I contacted the feds. "Nothing will happen until fall" was the response. Based on what has been happening recently with the Con-servative govt., I would say it's fall at the earliest. I don't expect anything until next year. As long as you purchased a Prius after March 23 (I think that was the date), you will be eligible for a $2000 rebate. Make sure you keep a copy of your sales agreement.

I am still in the process of importing my Prius from Phoenix to Victoria.
I am not able to get RIV to send me form 2.
I do not know what gives, I provided them with the Recall Letter Via email.
this has been over 6 weeks so far, a little frustrating having it sit in the driveway.
Any one have better luck?

Are you in the process of importing, or has it been imported already (sitting in your driveway)?
They should mail form 2 to you after you cross the border, fill in form 1, and pay your duty+gst. 10 days.
If you email, you need to send them a copy of your form1 or proof that you paid duty,gst, and riv fee (all anyone really wants - money).
I sent a scan of my recall clearance and riv fee receipt to [email protected], and got a response in less than a day. Very good service for that 200 bucks.

I just brought across my 2007 Grey Touring #2 last night into Canada. What email address did you use to send your RIV reciept and Form 1 too?

PS Terrific car! 80km so far on the 2nd tank of gas is at 53.9mpg (US)!

IIRC its recall_at_riv.ca - they wont respond to the info_at_riv.ca for form2 requests.

Loving the car, but sad to say, my mpg is a puny ~41 (3rd tank, but my commute is <6km one way).

For the pkg5vers and 6ers eh. Not quite 11k for me (equating a pkg3 to pkgB) - spend less, save less.
