I've forgotten: is this one of the 5 signs of the Apocalypse, or is that the World Series I'm thinking of?

But d*mn: 4 straight games to win the Pennant! Congratulations Red Sox fans!

Four games ago I decided to watch as the Yanks swept the Sox. But darned if I didn't start rooting for the Sox after a couple games. Last night was just down-right beautiful. If you're going to make NLB history, that's the way to do it. It's not that I despise the Yankees or even actually follow sports. Games 4, 5, and 6 were so close I couldn't think about going to bed before they ended. Since the Cubbies fell on their collective faces as the season wrapped up, I have to root for someone. But with good friends in both Boston and St. Louis, I’m not publicly announcing sides yet.

Wow, what a series. If the Sox are able to win the WS I guess the only curse left is the "Chicken Curse" at Carolina.

Maybe this will be the year we make it through the Orange Crush (Tennessee, Florida, Clemson)...

It's going to be a little weird if Houston wins the NL pennant. Talk about sports shadowing politics...

I'm going to go home this weekend and watch the section on Ken Burns' Baseball series that talks about the Curse of the Bambino. Some great discussions (much of it tongue-in-cheek) from various people.

Danny, we've got enough curses against the Cubs to keep them from winning the World Series for many generations to come. There is still the Goat Curse, Now there's the Bartman Curse, Of course, there has always been the Curve of the Second Half of the Season, which is second only to the Wait Til Next Year Curse.

Yay, sox! I'm not a big baseball fan but damn were those games entertaining. I hope they go all the way this time. Those Yankees and their fans were just plain mean and rude to the red sox.

My housemate was just commenting how interesting it would be to have a Texas vs Massachusetts match. Might be a sign of things to come in the white house. Lol. Unfortunately, that may not bode well for Kerry. ;)
