I bought my 2005 used a few weeks ago from a non-Toyota dealer who had no idea what package it has. How do I find out? Also, if VSC is one of the icons that shows up when I start the car, does that mean my car has Vehicle Stabilty Control?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zoozoo3 @ Jun 24 2007, 07:53 PM) </div> If you were to describe some of the optional equipment that the car has, some of us will be able to tell you. Do you have NAV, JBL sound system, SKS, HID headlights with fog lights, auto dimming rear view mirror with Homelink, side airbags?
I think this means you have vehicle stability control, so you have at least a package 4. http://www1.epinions.com/content_172977786500 See here to see what option you have. I am not sure how accurate this site is, perhaps someone with a 2005 Prius can verify it. Congrats on the Prius!
I have SRS Curtain airbags, fog lights, very "white" headlights, no navigation system, no back-up camera and a 6 disc CD changer (below the 1 disc CD slot) labeled "Toyota 51807 CD R-D-S."
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zoozoo3 @ Jun 24 2007, 07:53 PM) </div> Re VSC: Hopefully it means that and not "Very Sick Car" This page describes the option package contents for 2007; likely they change from one year to the next. http://www.toyota.com/prius/options.html I'm still shopping for a new Prius. Having problems finding what I want in 2007 stock, so I may have to wait for 2008 models. Phil
Is there a speaker on top of the display? I think that's an indication of a standard-equipment upgraded audio system. If you don't have that, you might have Package #4 with a port-added CD changer....

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(inventor00 @ Jun 25 2007, 09:08 AM) </div> Isn't the option package listed after he paint code on the placard attached to the driver's door frame?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zoozoo3 @ Jun 24 2007, 08:19 PM) </div> Yeah, you probably have the AM package (aka the "Safety" package).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JimN @ Jun 25 2007, 07:29 PM) </div> Which of the many number/letter combinations might give me this info? After the VIN and bar code I have 2 lines of letter/number combinations.
My Magnetic Gray car was built May 2006. On the placard I have two lines under the bar code: C/TR 1G3 FE11 NHW20L AHEEBA A/TM 01A/P112 On the window sticker I have: Color: Magnetic Gray/FE11 VIN: The VIN (01G3/11) I deduce the FE11 is the color code and the 01G3 is the option package (HF).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JimN @ Jun 26 2007, 07:39 PM) </div> Thanks for the response, JimN. I think my 2005 is Magnetic Gray also! (Although according to the link from Michgal that color wasn't a choice in '05.) Which of the colors listed do you think is code for Magnetic Gray? Or do you think that color might have been inadvertantly left off the list?
We have a 2005 level 4 according to the descriptions. I think the HID lights are a dead giveaway. Ours came from a Chevy dealer that didn't know about the packages either.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Zoozoo3 @ Jun 26 2007, 07:57 PM) </div> The color code for Magnetic Gray is 1G3. The color code for Tideland Pearl is 6S9, which is probably what you have in your 2005. It mostly looks gray, but in some lights it turns green. Some people love it, some hate it. Also, it's not as dark as Magnetic Gray. JimN: The "11" in that string of letters/numbers probably refers to the interior color (dark gray is 11). FE is the base package for 50-state emissions. It looks like the option package code does not appear. BTW Interior colors for 2005 were 08 (ivory) and 18 (gray)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mcbrunnhilde @ Jun 27 2007, 02:44 AM) </div> WOW! Tideland Pearl - who would have guessed? I do have 6S9 in the string of numbers under the bar code. That also clears up the mystery of why the color of the car was given as green both on the internet listing and the paperwork on/with the car when I bought it. My pretty car even has a pretty color name! (It's a girl thing.) Thanks to everyone involved in helping me discover the true identity of my baby! "It takes a village..."
