Hi guys, This is my first post and it's an annoying plea for help!! I just got my pretty Prius 2 days ago and I'm trying to get my phonebook transferred to the car and I can't figure it out. I have a LG CU500 with Cingular/AT&T. Can anyone please help me? I'd really love to be able to use the phone more. I tried doing what the stupid manual said but it's very generic. I also tried the instructions from wikiHOW but they seem to be for an older version of the bluetooth. Thank you!!!!!

Try going to one of your phonebook entries and see if there is a Transfer option under one of the menus. Also, does your Prius have Nav? If it does, according to the website you will not be able to transfer any phone book entries (see link below).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Family Hybrid @ Jun 21 2007, 06:01 AM) </div> Thanks for the quick reply Family Hybrid. Yes, I have the Navigation so I guess I'm just SOL!!!! Darnit!! It's really kind of annoying not being able to have my phone numbers transfered. Oh well. Again, Thanks so much for your quick and helpful response.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sassy Pamela @ Jun 22 2007, 02:39 AM) </div> Is this a problem only with your phone? I have navigation and have no trouble at all with transferring phone book entries. Tom
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(qbee42 @ Jun 22 2007, 10:53 AM) </div> Hi Tom, Yes, that is what I am assuming that it is because of my phone. It's very annoying. Glad to hear you don't have my phone
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sassy Pamela @ Jun 22 2007, 12:04 PM) </div> If I did have your phone, would I get any interesting phone calls? B) Tom
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(qbee42 @ Jun 22 2007, 12:51 PM) </div> You'd probably get numerous calls from my husband asking you to put the AMEX down and leave the mall immediately. What model of cell phone do you have? I was thinking of buying a phone off ebay and just using it to transfer my numbers over.
Sometimes it's a problem with the service provider. I know that because I have Verizon Wireless with my RAZR V3c, I can't transfer my phonebook, even one entry at a time... Even though the phone itself is capable of making transfers, Verizon criples the phone specifically so that we will feel the need to pay ridiculous amounts of money to download stupid things like music, video and ringtones onto our phones.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sassy Pamela @ Jun 21 2007, 03:39 AM) </div> Some phones allow you to transfer groups of numbers. Usually you have to add those numbers to a group on the phone itself. The Prius 2007 HandsFree software can import groups of numbers. I have transferred groups from a Sprint Samsung M500. Putting numbers into a group on that phone is easy but tedious. As for transferring them one by one -- it is a lot faster and requires far few "keystrokes" than entering them one at a time. Good luck!
If you did get an ebay phone, how would you transfer your contacts from your phone to it? If manually, then just do manual inputs into the Prius phonebook. If via bluetooth, then it would seem you could do bluetooth to the prius.
Didn't Verizon get sued over that and have to stop?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sassy Pamela @ Jun 22 2007, 01:56 PM) </div> Ha, that's good. I have a Sony Ericsson from CellularOne. In addition to being a good phone, I like it for the built-in Sony Walkman. Tom
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(9G-man @ Jun 25 2007, 05:50 AM) </div> current phone to computer --> computer to new ebay phone ---> ebay phone to prius My phone doesn't transfer phone numbers 1 at a time or in groups. And no, I do not want to sit in my driveway manually typing in my 1 million phone numbers by hand on the touch screen. Doesn't sound like a fun time to me. Thanks anyway <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(qbee42 @ Jun 25 2007, 07:42 AM) </div> Thanks Tom. I guess I'm just going to give up on finding a AT&T phone that plays nice with this weird bluetooth. I'll just have to be jealous of the bluetooth on my husband's gas guzzling bimmer.
According to toyota.letstalk.com, my tmobile MDA cannot transfer phone entries to my 07 prius (NAV). I was able to transfer one entries to the prius via BT without any problem. So I think other brand of phone can do that too. First, I will paired the cell phone with the car handsfree BT. Once the phone successfully paired, you can find transfer the phone address book one entries at a time. I can't remember on top of my head where the transfer menu hidden. Let me get back to my car and I'll do some screenshot or a writeup.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Family Hybrid @ Jun 21 2007, 04:01 AM) </div> Hi Family Hybrid, How acurate is the LetTalk site? I entered my LG 8300, and provider Verizon, and Lets Talk says it should transfer multiple numbers at once, but I have never been able to. Do you think it may be that Verizon Changed the features Without Notice? Sassy Pamela, Put down that AMEX Card and leave the mall. And be sure to search for and join our Silver Pine Mica Club. THe thread title is Pine Silver Mica or some mixed up thing, but you should fine it either way.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NoMoShocks @ Jun 25 2007, 03:05 PM) </div> Hi NoMo, I thought I did join the club!!! If I haven't tell me what I need to do =) Yes, the letstalk site says I should be able to transfer my phonebook too but when I try, it disconnects from the phone. Oh well.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sassy Pamela @ Jun 25 2007, 02:17 PM) </div> Here is another possible sequence... Since you are on Cingular/the new AT&T that means you have a SIM card. If you happened to store the contacts on the SIM card and not the internal phone memory, then it would only be a matter of plugging the card into the ebay phone. I don't make that many calls on my cell while driving, so I never bothered to transfer my phone book, but I just realized that according to Let's Talk, my old Motorola MX220 is capable of transferring more than one contact, but my Razr V3 can only do one at a time. What I'm not sure about is, if you send the contacts using a second phone, would that phone book on the Prius still be visible when you are only paired with the first phone. I vaguely remember there being some trick to pulling this off.
