<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(gazz @ Jun 13 2007, 06:05 AM) </div> gazz, Your question isn't specific enough. Price per US gallon? Imperial Gallon? For what type of "Petrol" (we usually call it gas or gasoline in the US)? I've never bought Petrol outside the US, but here at least you have your choice of octane ratings commonly ranging from around 85 on the low end to 100 on the high end. There is also E85 (85% Ethanol, 15% Gasoline) with a typical octane rating of 105. The price can vary significantly from state to state and even from city to city and each state, city, county, may add on their own taxes (note that in the US, the tax is usually included in the quoted price of fuel). I'm not sure, is Diesel Fuel considered "Petrol"? Even in the same city for the same octane rating, of the same blend, on the same intersection, I've seen gasoline prices vary by more than US$0.10 between providers across the street from each other. For the 87 octane 10% Ethanol Summer blend that I buy from my favorite provider in my neighborhood, I pay US$3.19 per US Gallon today.
Hi Gazz, Here in west suburuban Chicagoland gasoline is about $3.51 a gallon (or $4.56 an imperial gallon). Price has been coming down the last month, when it peaked at about $3.65 / gallon. Some people at work were saying they were seeing some stations down into the $3.40's just today. Its a good thing we have all these cicadia's buzzing around! Highway traffic is spooked by the red-eyed devil bugs, and its been slow and go on the highways. Great for getting good mileage - 60.7 mpg at 523 miles on the tank when I pulled into home today. I had a cicadia looing into the driver window at me, and another one riding the windsheild wiper. I will be gassing up tomorrow, when the gas guess gauge drops to 2 bars - probably around 550 miles.

I've seen as low as $2.79US/gal in South Carolina and I'm pretty sure this is the "expensive" part of the state.
3.01 at sam's club, palm desert on friday evening that's .10 cheaper than i can get it locally in the high desert....
Just dropped to US$2.999/gal in Carson City, NV; down from a high of about $3.239, where I get gas at Costco. Shell and Chevron run .15 to .20 higher.
