I hate those roll out or unfold windshied covers. I know they work well but they are a pain to set up. At least to me. A freind has in his PT Cruiser the kind that stay at both ends of the windshield and when you need to use them you simply pull them together to cover the windshild. To undo you simply slid them back. Has anyone used these on their Prius and if so where and how much did you pay for them. I think, but am not sure DashCovers offers them Thanks all Roger
I used to have one from AutoShade in my Corolla. So handy to just pull it across the windshield. The only downside was the adhesive wouldn't hold it on the windshield in the California heat, so I had to screw it into the pillar. Can't do that on the Prius, due to the airbags.

I've also looked at those, but I was concerned that if the air bags beside the windshield ever went off, they'd drive the shades into somebody's face. They sure look convenient though.

A week ago in Palm Springs, I saw a white prius Parked infront of Lowes. It look so good in a Prius. I didn't know it was ecplise sunshade. When the owner came to the car, I just had to asked. Two things to consider: As has been mentioned, if you have the side curtain airbags, the windshield mounted shade hardware might become a lethal weapon if the bags are deployed. Second item.....the windshield pillars are already very wide and create a blind spot on either side of your forward view. Adding a shade would only make those posts wider and cut off even more of your peripheral view. I have twice nearly hit a pedestrian because of those wide pillars and they are the only design problem I have with the Prius.

I have the visor strap-on type. While it's not a perfect Prius fit, it does cover the whole window if you unfold it completely, which I usually don't since 3/4 opened is good enough most of the times. The nice thing about these is that they can be kept neatly out of the way. The only drawback I've found is that the thickness keeps the visors from being flipped all the way forward. Since making the initial post I ordered and fitted the Eclipse Windshield Shade on my 06 Prius. It adds almost 4 inches to the posdt thus your view is further obstructed. This and the rear vew for same reason are two of the only faults I find in the Prius design. I'[m curious if that will be corrected in the new model next year. Anyone seen pics of the new model....I have
