OK, so I've had my Prius for 10 months now and I just figured out (well, four days ago) the secret of the driver's window auto down/up. You know, press it down and it goes all the way down. Press it up and it goes all the way up. Press it down, no up, no down, no up again trying to get it somewhere in the middle. For the longest time I had thought that the secret was a quick split-second down-press or up-press, which usually (but not always) worked. This, however, was not the secret. Little did I know that what I was dealing with was ... a simple 5-way switch. The switch rests in the 3rd. position, with two more positions for "down" and two for "up". Push the switch down gradually, with minimal pressure, and start pressing harder. You can feel the switch pass through one position to the next. So, if you don't press/pull beyond the 2nd./4th. positions, the window will stop when the switch is released. Push/pull it through to the 1st./5th. positions, and the window is auto up/down when released. Yeah, I know, you Smartypants (plural Smartypantses?) figured this out before you even shifted from Park in the dealer lot, but this is a major revelation for me. I hope it helps someone else here.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(IsrAmeriPrius @ Jun 23 2007, 09:15 PM) </div> I did. But that was ten months ago. <_<
hehehe. Yeah but some people can't do that apparently. Maybe the indents are different? On mine, there's a distinct resistance when I hit that 2nd/4th switch.
My problem is I always hit the button for the driver's side passenger window when trying to roll down mine.
Yeah, it usually takes the typical "smartypants" 10 months to figure out the switch but you don't join the rank of "geniuspants" until you can operate your windows with mind control. I'm just a level 4 genius because I can only use mind control on the drivers side window.
Hang on. There's going to be a guy along shortly to say "you figured out how to use your window switch and felt there was a need to start a thread about it?" kinda like he did the guy who found a more comfortable seating position by moving the seatback. Good on you for figuring your windows out.
