I am so bummed!!!! Some dodo woman ran a stop sign in front of me yesterday and my new baby with only 713 miles now has $2000 worth of damage to the front end!! I LOVE my car and now this. Stupid, stupid, people. Signed, Whining in Michigan.
This could be worse.... It could have happened to me.... Glad you're ok, no fair smackin down the other driver, the cops frown on that.
Gee, thanks, Daron, for the support for my first time ever submission. Forgive me for being a bit down on the dodo who admitted "I couldn't see around the car next to me, so I just went." Sure, no one was hurt, but give me a break. And as for the police officer, he was incredulous when she actually said this in front of him. I won't be back.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Peabody214 @ Jun 21 2007, 01:15 PM) </div> I feel you Pea, I was in an accident myself last months, "fortunately" it was deemed as total loss, and I am still feeling the physical pain. Not trying to relive your frustration, how exactly did it happen?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daronspicher @ Jun 21 2007, 01:19 PM) </div> Shallow, uncalled for and totally disrespectful of what the accident victim is going through. Oh, you're an American Idol Fan. Never mind.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Peabody214 @ Jun 21 2007, 11:32 AM) </div> If you're THAT sensitive, better not come back I guess! Personally, I didn't see anything offensive in Daron's post at all. Sorry to hear you were hit, that bites.
Yup...one of those people who do not pay attention when driving. Sorry to hear your story. Mine was hit by some high school girl trying to do 3 lane changes at once... Good to know that no one was hurt.
Sorry to hear that! Well, at least insurance will cover everything (since you weren't at fault there might not even be a deductible), and most importantly, YOU'RE ok...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Peabody214 @ Jun 21 2007, 01:15 PM) </div> Sorry about your car. It would bum me out if one of those tailgating SUVs or Pickup trucks hit mine. You might want to check into getting a check for the depreciated value your car will have since it was in an accident. Just a thought.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Peabody214 @ Jun 21 2007, 02:15 PM) </div> What part of Michigan? I'm wondering if I can hear your whining from here? Tom
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(qbee42 @ Jun 21 2007, 04:36 PM) </div> Tough crowd
I take my wife to the nearby BART station most days of the week. This morning, I approached a T-intersection traffic light where other cars were stopped, and slowed down to a near stop when the light turned green. I moved my foot to the gas and had just begun stepping on it lightly when this white car decided to run the 5-second-old red light, skidding in front of me through the T. I hadn't been paying much attention, so it's my fault for not noticing, but I'm glad for the fact I start slowly now And then I don't think I'm unjustified in calling the driver of the white car stupid. They must have had at least 10 seconds of warning, counting the yellow light, and that's enough to bring a car to a stop moderately.
Sorry to hear that. My baby got hit 10 days ago in the back, while she was parked and minding her own business. Damage $1000. Also in Michigan.
I would probably still be crying. My baby has about 800 miles so I can definitely imagine how you'd feel.
Peabody, if you return, welcome to the site. I'm sorry to hear of your loss and I'd be bummed too. Some of us can certainly be put in the smart a$$ category. I'm sure the "offending" post was an attempt to inject a bit of humor.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ServoScanMan @ Jun 21 2007, 03:55 PM) </div> That would be "diminished value". Because your car was involved in an accident, your car is worth $4000 or more less than a comparable car that was not in an accident. Even if the car is repaired perfectly. People do not want to buy a car that has been in an accident. My new Prius, with 2K miles, was involved in an accident with a woman who ran a red. I am seeking $4000 diminished value from her insurer. They have already paid $13,000 for the repair and $2000 for a rental car for the 8 weeks that it took to repair the car. ~buttster
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Peabody214 @ Jun 21 2007, 02:15 PM) </div> You have every right to be bummed out, and I'd be whining to
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(excuseMeButt @ Jun 21 2007, 07:33 PM) </div> Yea, what you said. I also own a 93 Camry that I will be selling later this year. One of the first questions I will be asked is, "Has it been in any wrecks"? And the answer is - "Yes, 5 of them. But I was assured by the last body shop the target was taken off the car".
