On a recent road trip a tire got punctured by some debris in the road. I needed a full size tire to complete my trip. The closest dealer only had a Yokohama in the correct size. Do I need to replace this tire with the OEM Goodyear Integrity? Thanks!
I really dont think so, but I install new tire at back. Other suggestion is replace 2 tire. So, you have 2 good tire at rear and 2 old one at front....
Depends on how many miles you have on the other front tire. If they are equivilent speed rating, and the other tire isn't wearing out, 1 is OK. Speedracer makes a good point. If the puncture was in a front tire, put the new tire on the back. If there is any slight handling difference in the tires it will show up on the front but not the back. Might be a good time to rotate the rears forward anyway since they wear less. That way you are putting equal tread tires on the front.
It was the left REAR tire that got cut. So I can just leave it as is then? I'd like to save the cost of getting a matching OEM tire and just chucking the otherwise brand new Yokohama. Thanks. Peter Miami, FL USA
I had one tire get damaged, and I only replaced the one tire, since the others were still in excellent condition. It has been fine.
