The other day I was driving around and saw an extremely attractive girl driving a brand new Prius who looked like she was very close to my age (early twenties) and ever since I bought my Prius in April I have been joking about needing to find a girlfriend that drives a hybrid (preferably other than a Prius just to promote some healthy competition ). So I am curious if anyone here has ever gotten involved in a relationship with a fellow hybrid owner (excluding preexisting couples that decided to each get hybrids after the fact)?
If anything, it gives you another excuse to talk to attractive members of the opposite sex. "What's your mileage?"

Lol I thought this exact same thing the other day... of course she was driving magnetic grey and I'm a Seaside Pearl so I'm not sure if that would have worked out anyway
I've made friends with a lot of other Prius and hybrid drivers. Friendship is a relationship, isn't it?

I went to Best Buy a few days after first getting the Prius to purchase 2 videogames (TMNT 360 for my 3 year old and Paper Mario Wii for the wife), anyway the superhot cashier said to me "I was outside and I saw you pull up in your hybrid, did you just get it, wow you have a 360 and a wii." Then she asked if my son who was with me was my only child, and at this point she glanced at the ring on my finger and says "too bad all the nice, hot, good guys are already taken." So I went home feeling good about myself (rare of a 20 y/o girl still flirting with me at 29 especially one that is actually hot) and of course I told my wife and she laughed, she goes yeah she just thought you had some money, and she probably asked the kid question because she has 2 or 3 kids running around at home. Back to reality.
With the exception of gold diggers most relationships are not based on tangible goods such as cars in most cases. There are some places where a guy with any car and a minimum wage job is light years ahead of the rest of the community and there for a prize to others in that situation. But people in that class are most interested in that class of people witch is not the class who can afford a 25k car, just as those who can afford a 25k car are generally not hooking up with people who can afford a 250k car. Most relationships stem from a common ground and comfort level, if there is something in common and at least one side has self confidence something may happen. If you can make someone laugh the comfort is there quickly. The point of a pick up line is not necessarily to "pick up" or "work" as the cheesy catch phrase is (when done right) should be used in such a way to find someone with a similar sense of humor and break the ice with a laugh to start and or show wit. Hence why such horrible lines that have worked in the past for me. At a Halloween party dressed like a disco pimp rolling up 70s sports car to a group of women I used the line in general to start a conversation "hey baby, wanna go back to my place and watch TV...in COLOR!" Yeah it worked, and yes I went home with one of them, but it was not the pick up line that worked but the conversations after that. The same with the Jesus pick up line. "hey wanna play Jesus!" "how do you play Jesus?" "I take you home and nail you" Probably the worst in the world but it does get conversations going and works well with the goth crowd. Its a good sorting tool to quickly and easily find people of what your looking for if your looking for someone with quick wit as well. Its not the message or the words but the self confidence that people pick up on. And yes it is completely possible to still pick up college age women well into your 30's so long as you dont let your body go to crap and can be upbeat and fun and have self confidence. As someone who makes wedding rings I see a lot of what works and what does not working with people. I can actually call witch relationships will last and not, based on the way people are. its kinda weird but you pick up on it while making peoples Engagement rings and wedding rings in a college town. There are a lot of women who are in there early to mid twenties getting married to guys in there late twenties and even mid to late thirties. And its always the guys who are calm and collective who take care of them selves who have a high aura of self confidence about them that are getting the educated witty confident trophy wives. Some of them more than one at the same time. Polygamy is great for business! but its more about who they are than possessions.

Amusing little story from last weekend: we were out at the Sunday earth-fest that the NJ EEVC piggybacked the alt-fuel and hybrid show part of the event onto, and I was across the way from the West Philly "hybrid attack" team [whose car *still* isn't hybrid, just biodiesel] but their flagship project is a very low, swoopy looking racecar type thing. Someone within earshot mentioned their car being a chick magnet [which I'm sure would tickle their team members]. There I am with my techie-doc plastered all over my car and my inverter parts and crankable transaxle piece and flyers, and I thought about it for a sec and said "hmmph, chick magnet? The kind of chick *I'm* looking for is the one that will come over, walk all the way around my car and read *everything* pasted into the windows, and then come ask hard questions." Whoever I was talking to was pretty amused... . I think that pretty much gives away my answer to the topic question, though. Nonetheless, I was pretty busy that whole day and probably convinced a bunch of people that hybrids are a better idea than they might have thought. . _H*

jessica alba drives the same exact color as me... so heres to hoping I can be in a relationship with her!
Doesn't engaging others on a internet message board on a regular basis consitute as some sort of relationship?
