I've been getting complaints about the audio when I use the bluetooth from most people. Is anyone having this problem and how to I fix it? Suzieyoga
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(suzieyoga @ Mar 20 2007, 07:31 AM) </div> What do you mean? What kind of complaints? And how are you using bluetooth? Please clarify.
Did you get people complaining your voice is too low when you use the BT? I increased the Mic level within the service menu. So far, I got no complain.
Do you have an answering machine or voicemail you can call to and hear for yourself? You might be able to know what the complaints are about.
No complaints here either when using either my Moto E815 or Nokia 6256i (VZW). Not only can't people tell I'm on handsfree, they can't tell I'm on a cell phone.
Hi. I have the same problem. Audio is low according to everyone I talk with when using Bluetooth in the car. It's not the setting on my Audiovox XV 6700 and and as far as I can tell there is not a settings feature to adjust mic volume. There's nothing in the owners manual on the Bluetooth features. Questions: - where is the mic situated in the car - how is the mic volume adjusted Thanks in advance!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(smitty @ Mar 28 2007, 10:54 AM) </div> The mic is in the slots up by the overhead light switches. If the Prius is a left-hand drive it's on the left side, right if it's a right-hand drive. I know of at least one person who put an extra mic in the empty slot in order to increase sensitivity. On the 2005 the mic volume control is on the MFD when I'm making a call. It may be on another menu too.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(aaf709 @ Mar 28 2007, 12:00 PM) </div> That's not the volume control for the MIC. That controls how loud YOU can hear the other party. Not the other way around. In the 04 and 05 you can go into the service menu and increase the microphone gain.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Vagabond @ Mar 28 2007, 11:19 AM) </div> Thanks for the correction. Which menu do you go to?
Yes, what menu please. I have the same problem. Treo 700w (vzw) for me and people keep telling me they can hardly hear me and I'm yelling at them. I know you can change the mic gain, but where in the service menu is it?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(suzieyoga @ Mar 20 2007, 11:31 AM) </div> You can go to the system diagnostic screen as suggested by Dr. Fusco and others other Priuschat threads. There hold down the info button and flicked the lights on and off and the display screen goes to diagnostic mode. From there the menu button(s) take you to bluetooth send volume. The default setting is 0. I cranked it up to 5 and our bluetooth problem was gone. That was over a week ago and we haven't had any volume problems being heard since.
Make sure the fan is on low, but the problem may be with the person on the other end of the phone and not you. I also experience similar problems but it's always with the same people. And there are people that hear me just fine....all the time. Does this problem happen with everyone or with just a few?
Has anyone with a Motorola KRZR been able to get an incoming voicemail/text message ringtone while connected to the Prius bluetooth device? For some reason I don't get a ringtone for incoming text or voicemail messages. I do get an incoming call ringtone, but that's it. I've looked at my phone settings and have even tried changing the audio tone. When I had my RAZR, it would send out a beep and I didn't do a thing with the settings. Am I missing a step in the settings? Please help. Thank you.
The bluetooth audio sent to the car speaker is very good, but people always complain that my voice is garbled or breaking up, even when I have full signal from cell site (I know where all the AT&T cell sites are in my area, so I can sit under the tower and I am be certain that I have a fully quieted signal). The owner of the local AT&T Wireless store just happens to own a Prius, and he says the bluetooth receiver used in all Prius's is a piece of garbage and everyone has problems with bad bluetooth audio. Would anyone like to comment or recommend a fix?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(comtech5 @ Nov 4 2007, 07:34 PM) </div> Our 2005 has had no problems with the volume for the handsfree. People say to us too, that they can't tell we are talking from the Prius. It sounds as good or better than our land line.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(comtech5 @ Nov 4 2007, 09:34 PM) </div> I'm afraid I have to respectfully disagree with your friend. I have a very basic bluetooth phone, Katana II with SPRINT service and my family and friends tell me they cannot tell I am using the hands free bluetooth in my 2006 Prius and even refuse to believe me at times when I tell them I am, expecting some reduced quality. I could not be happier with the Prius system. As a suggestion for you, if you know of another person/friend with cell service in your area using bluetooth, link your Prius to their phone and make a few calls and see if there is a difference. Use friends/family who have different model phones and service providers too and see if there is a common link with the problem(s) you are having. I know ATT is a good provider but perhaps there is a bad ATT cell receiver in your area even if the ATT transmitter signal is full scale. Best wishes.....Tom
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(kn6vv @ Nov 11 2007, 06:11 PM) </div> I'll second that...I've had my Katana for over a year using Sprint service and I'm also told the voice quality is excellent. Additionally, I had absolutely no trouble uploading my entire phone book. Mike
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(comtech5 @ Nov 4 2007, 08:34 PM) </div> My bluetooth works fine on my 2007 as far as being heard by my callers. I am having problems with voice activation and voice dialing (it adds zeroes). My dealer has set-up an appointment with his "Bluetooth Tech" to see if it's me or my system. That being said, ALL CELL PHONE COMPANIES want to sell portable computers and internet access and not cell Phones and cell PHONE service. Maybe the man from the AT&T store could tell AT&T to provide cell phone servce and working cell phones to CELL PHONE customers.
