<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Compfool @ Jun 14 2007, 09:43 AM) </div> Yup, that's that big tower in Dubai, but you need to post a googlemaps image (see post 1 for the rules). Wanna try again? Here's the google map image of the Jumeirah Hotel tower.... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...p;z=16&om=1
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(efusco @ Jun 14 2007, 08:35 AM) </div> Good job! I thought that might stump people a little longer, but I was probably too generous with the clues. I don't think you see border crossings like this on our southern side. Farmers can drive their tractors across the border pretty much anywhere from MN to central MT (until you hit the Rockies). In eastern MN you need a canoe to cross the border, and just west of Lake in the Woods the woods are pretty thick. And yes, SPE definitely gets a thumbs-up for finding the valley in Idaho! I found these while looking for Craters of the Moon in Idaho (Lunar Crater in Nevada was the actual target that time). I didn't think somebody would be able to find it, so that's why I broke rules and posted two aerials.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(nerfer @ Jun 14 2007, 09:53 AM) </div> It was pretty obvious it was a border crossing. And with the tip of the air strip in the photo I just used google earth and had it display airport icons...then scanned across the US/CN border until I found an airport right on the border...that was the only one that close and the peace garden was, of course, right there. compfool, you changed your image after I'd found it. Do you want to try again with a different google image/location? If not I'll go again.

Compfool, not stepping on your toes, go ahead and post an image (we can handle 2 at once for the most part), but I've got one ready.... One we should all know...

Looks like a prison on an island soooo... Alcatraz! http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&t=k&...p;z=19&om=1 New image coming...
You know, a lot of this depends upon your first impression of the clues...I saw that and thought "penninsula"...was too late to guess anyway, but it's still fun to go through the mental gymnastics.
I found it in Versailles, France http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...p;z=15&om=1 But I don't know what exactly the place is. Chateau de Versailles perhaps? Mmmm, cake! Am I right? If so I'll find the next image...
