Has anyone seen new aftermarket brake upgrades? My wife is interested in upgrading... I found these on an Original Made/Endless blog...http://og-made.com/archives/category/tokyo-auto-salon-2007/
Why? The Prius friction brakes are only used at speeds below 8 miles per hour or in a panic situation. It is anticipated that the original pads will last in excess or 100,000 miles. What do you expect to gain with an "upgrade"?
Tom's Sport Pads which you can order from Carson Toyota or Sigmaauto.com or japanparts.com. I have a set on order coming in about 2 weeks.....
Bling...Bling. Great upgrades. 4 piston brake caliper. I don't like how they integrate the brake material on the caliper as I will expect replacing the whole caliper assembly down the road. How bout slotted brake disc?

Har har har! All right then, I'll go to Japan and get her a *real* Prius... I guess we'll just look at the Tom's or Hawks... I can't argue with her about her need, though, given the driving style. She's only had it for 15K and the stock pads are down to 7mm already.
