Have a rattle that sounds like its in the rt. side "B"pillar adjacent to front seat.
Not loud, but enough to be annoying.
    When turning right, no rattle.
Checked around inside, seat belt slide, etc. Also under car including BT plate All seems Ok.
Car is only 4 mos old. Do NOT want dealer involved if can be avoided.

    Any help is appreciated.

Carl did you disassemble the seatbelt slide or do you know the rattle isn't coming from there? If you did disassemble it, how did you take it apart. I have a small rattle coming from my seatbelt slide on the driver's side. I think it is inaudible to others in the car however since it is virtual next to my ear while driving it is becoming quite annoying. I think if I could disassemble the seatbelt slide I would be able to neutralize the rattle.

    Hi Kurt,
No I did not disassemble it. Just checked it's integrity as compared to the drivers side. Seemed the same.
I really fear making a minor problem a MAJOR problem.
If I find out anything I'll let you know.

I noticed that the assist handle (the plastic fold down handle above each door) makes a slight buzz or rattle under certain conditions. I verified this by manipulating the drivers door handle to make the noise go away. You may want to investigate this as a possible source.

if the rattle still occures with a passanger in the RH seat here's the procedure to locate the area of the rattle. Get yourself a 3 foot piece of garden hose and get another person to drive the car and then listen with the hose to your ear you should be able to locate the area of the rattle in less than a couple of minutes. The free end of the hose will help locate the area like a megaphone in reverse. One thing that I've found with the Prius dash and trim pieces is that they snap back in place without creating rattles.

I have noticed this in my car as well. The assist handle rattles sometime and I can just push on the hinge area and it will go away.

However, as stated above my current "problem" is the seatbelt slide. Something inside that contraption is making a slight rattle.

Will check the assist handle and the tray in the glove box (priusonline).
IF no luck my wife is a RN, will have her use her stethoscope. That should nail it IF it's in the post.
Will let you know either way.

After a short test drive it appears it is the tray in upper "glove box".
The rt. fwd assist handle was very "squeaky" when I checked it--but it seemed secure.
Will know after normal drive. Will posr either way.
    THANX,
    Carl
