So, I don't understand why the MFD does not show the titles of CD's on the MFD. It works very nicely with MP3 CD's, but not with standard CD's. I know the info is on the CD's because my other CD players show the titles. Another question. Do many of you use MP3 CD's in the JBL CD changer?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Winston @ Jun 13 2007, 07:39 AM) </div> The answer to your question has nothing to do with the MFD or the stereo in the vehicle. The CD has to have the CD Text as part of the recording. Most CDs don't have this information on them. There are some that do have this and will show up on the MFD with the title. The reason that all MP3 CD's have the information is because it is encoded on your computer and the information is downloaded from CDDB or other source when the CD is ripped to the computer storing the MP3.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Winston @ Jun 13 2007, 10:39 AM) </div> I've made a couple and they worked fine. The MFD will show the folder & filename of the song being played.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Winston @ Jun 13 2007, 07:39 AM) </div> Where are you looking for the titles? If you have CDs that include CD-text, it should at least show up when the MFD is switched to Audio. That should be the case if your "other" players show it (however, if they are computers with internet access, they could be getting the information that way instead of from the CD). I've recorded some audio CDs that included CD-text and it shows up on the Audio screen. It does not show up on the banner bar that appears across the top of the MFD when the CD changes. That just shows Disk & Track #. Seems like it should show the CD-text but it doesn't. I've also made several MP3 disks which work great. As Proco says, the MP3 information shown is folder and filename. I expect we will shortly have only MP3 disks in the player since you can get so much more music onto the 6 CDs.
OK, maybe the CD's dont have CD text. I could be mistaken. I have made the MP3 CD's and they are great. However, it is annoying that I cannot see the folders and filenames when the car is moving.

Using iTunes 7.2 running on a PC (not a Mac) I was able to burn audio CDs with CD-text (the track listing comes from the Internet). When playing the burned CD in the Prius, the CD-text showed up fine. However, the volume is much lower than the real audio CD. Not sure yet why. Will do some more testing on this...
