I hate waiting for the VR prompt to say "After the beep say your command". I dont want the command, I just want the beep. Can that be modified?

The setting is in: Menu (to the upper right from the MFD screen), Setup, then go down to page 2/3 and turn "Voice Recognition Guidance" to OFF. Watch a demonstration here: http://www.toyota-eshowroom.com/partner/To...toyota_nav.html Once you get to that page click "How To" at the top and select "Advanced System Setup" and it talks about it just after setting the speed.

I had not used the nav before with local trips. I had played with it, but not really used it. I did not like it compared to the Nuvi my husband has. The Nuvi seemed more intuitive to use, but I quickly learned the Prius one has a lot of nice features. The link to the tutorial was perfect. I watched it all and got a great overview of the system and then the manual made perfect sense. My favorite is the split screen on a interstate with one side heading north and the other side heading up. Coming to exits on the route, the the right side goes to a close up with large arrows in the lane to be in. Perfect. I knew I could use voice recognition for the phone, but didn't know it was used for audio functions too. I've read the Prius manual, but I learned so much from that link. Thanks again, that was perfect timing.
It might be time to remove this Reply (and mine too) as the link no longer works. Mel as in Yer Welcum!
