Just picked up a 2007 Black #5 and was wondering what the best tint combo was. The guy at the tint shop thought 35% all around would look the best. Keep in mind that in CA it is technically illegal to have tint on the front windows, but not the rear. The tint guy said the cops won't bother me with 35% on the fronts. Any thoughts/opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Im in AZ. 35% is legal on the front doors. I did 35% all the way around to keep it even. Looks great. Ask for Huper Optik Tint. Top of the line - nothing better out there. Mine cost $620 installed but it is worth it.
We have a black one as well (only in AZ) We got the darkest allowed on the fronts (which is 35%, I believe) & then on the back we went with the Limo. It looks Awesome! The only part we didnt do the limo on the back was the part thats already tinted. I cant take any pics until tomorrow afternoon, but if you would like some I can take them tomorrow.
I too have a Black 07 but with limo all the way around execpt for the windshield which I have a 10in banner on the top. Haven't had a problem with the police at all. I felt that I needed to go that dark just to stay cool here in AZ.
I am in California and I just got 35% all around. (Black No. 6). It looks great. The process was a nightmare, but at least it is done. I did the front windows too. I don't think cops look around for Prii' that violate the tint laws.

I did 20 on the rears, 35 up front. I live in SoCal (Irvine) and I think it's pretty good... haven't been too worried about the cops....

I live in Newport Beach California...I believe I did 25 on the front and 15 on the backs...I figured it is only $50 to have my tint taken off if a cop doesn't like it... My point is, go for what you want, and if the police don't like it (unlikely) then pay the $50 fix it ticket. In the long run, is the $50 worth your happiness?
I had all the windows, except the windshield tinted at 30%. According to the cop who stopped me it was 28%. He had a little device that he slid over the edge of the glass. I played dumb (not an act) and said "But officer that's how the car came!" He let me go with a warning. I think he was just testing the device. New York State law limit tinting to 75%.
