I recently posted a video on YouTube to show non-hybrid car owners my personal experiences of how many miles I get on a tank, and how much it costs to fill up that tank in my area. Just thought I would share. Brad Tampa Bay Florida http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttpqbYXvn0M

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(sfprii @ Jun 9 2007, 10:50 AM) </div> I truly apperciate your concern, but how would they know my CC #? Brad
Brad, That was EXCELLENT............... My Wife works in Tampa, we live in Plant City (about 25 miles East of Tampa, near Polk County Line). We just purchased a brand new 2007 Toyota Prius Touring, Silver Pine Mica w/ Pkg. 5, gray (cloth) interior from Toyota of Tampa Bay (Fletcher Avenue) about three weeks ago (under 900 miles @ today) !! We love it..................... BTW- I think we are going for our SECOND "gas fill-up" sometime this weekend............ (and we do not actually let it go down below TWO bars......... paranoid I guess ??)
great video... but you only got 47 mpg.... should have recorded one where the pump mileage would be higher. either way, i think the point is made. my father in law commutes about 20 miles one way, pays $55 a week for gas and other than an occasional boat trip to the sound (we live right next to it so no long trips involved) he doesnt drive his truck anywhere. well we took them out to dinner one day, stopped at Costco, loaded up $28 worth, advised them that that 530 miles in the PAST TWO WEEKS just seemed to fly by... for some reason, he is now shopping for a good used Prius at a decent price. i told him as long as gas is north of $3 (its about $3.15 here, was $3.45 for memorial day) he will pay nearly new price for a used vehicle. after two weeks of looking, he has agreed so now is probably getting a 2008. that will be the 4th close friend or family member who has been converted by me.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(brad34695 @ Jun 9 2007, 09:22 AM) </div> Yeah, it was a great video, but boy was I nervous when you were "topping-off." I keep hearing that it's a no-no since the bladder can belch/spit fuel back up.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FloridaWen @ Jun 9 2007, 12:05 PM) </div> We fill up at about halfway now - it keeps the total around $20.00-25.00 usually. Thanks for posting the vid! Maybe now I can get some of my friends to seriously consider buying a hybrid.
Great video! I was concerned also when we saw you put in your PIN. Never know about people these days. I would feel better if you changed your PIN!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Per @ Jun 9 2007, 10:35 PM) </div> I guess I had better. I don't know how someone could get my CC# from the video, but being naive I never even thought about it. Thanks for the props!! Brad
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Per @ Jun 9 2007, 08:35 PM) </div> I didn't know they made 2007 Prii with the old screen graphics. Mine has the newer, square style. -wiiprii
Very nice video Brad !! Hopefully it will convert some who may be on the fence about the Prius. BTW, You're really Jared from the Subway commercials, right? !!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rangerdavid @ Jun 10 2007, 04:25 PM) </div> That's what I thought too!!!! Cool vid!
Thanks for Video Brad, While I was on U-Tube, I found a three part demo of a Plug-in Hybrid Prius was just added. Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84oJgyMHzb4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhXUXc5OCiI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwrJZw_y2v4
It was nice to see someone getting 11 gallons in their tank. I got gas today with one bar showing and put in just over seven gallons. I't good Toyota worked out the gas tank problem with the 07's.
Great video! Keep them coming. Nothing more valuable than real owner's videos. They make really great anti-Prius bashers. I upload mine to google video because they support wide-screen format.
You've inspired me! I mean no disrespect... yet when I watch that video of all that money clicking away, I have to wonder what we're doing here! And why we're so happy about it. I busted out the camera to show folks what is involved in charging my EV... for free... at home... in a second or two of my time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62fGYEtZ1gA
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(darelldd @ Jun 11 2007, 12:40 PM) </div> You're soooo smug ... my smugliness is destroyed ... I'm just puking
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(hill @ Jun 11 2007, 09:47 AM) </div> Excellent. My work here is done.
Shocking video!!! What are you whining about - $3/gallon! I pay SEK12/liter (roughly $2/liter or $7.50/gallon) You could use my old Hyundai Trajet V6 (14l/100km) and still drive a cheaper mile than I do in my Prius. I drive company owned cars privately and gets taxed for the benefit. The Hyundai added $500 taxable income/month + gas, my Prius only adds $270 and the low consumption makes the business miles pay for my private miles. Switching to a Prius adds up to a gain of about $5000 a year + free city parking + free city tolls - Talk about incentive to switch! I never realised that I would also drive the overall most interesting and entertaining vehicle avaiable until i picked it up and took it for an initial spin. I had never put any attention to the Prii around so I was greatly surprised when I got home to find the only free parking space in the block to be in a row with two other Prii. This was in April, now there are four more in our apartment block of 180 flats and a total of 8-10 in the nearest blocks. Enclosing the picture I took after the first parking, I actually mailed that picture to the salesman, but was not surprised - "We sell all we can get a hold of and the waiting list is growing twice as fast" [attachmentid=8776] (Mine is the bronze at the end)
