I start my baby (Prius) and I need the A/C on cause it's close to 90 degrees with like 80% humidity, and for the life of me, I can't catch a green light! Drive 1/2 mile, stop, again and again. This is what my first 5 minutes looked like. Ugh! Anyone ever do worse??? Brad Tampa Bay Florida[attachmentid=8589]

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(brad34695 @ Jun 6 2007, 03:24 PM) </div> Oh, yours isn't bad at all -- I generally do much worse on my first five minutes because I always have to wait at several lights. Sometimes, it hardly registers a bar at all! It usually starts off around 50% of the 25mpg marker.
I would consider that an excellent first 5 minutes. The best I ever do is 25mpg on the first bar and it's usually worse.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Trevor @ Jun 6 2007, 03:33 PM) </div> +1 My first five minutes I may only actually travel a quarter of a mile, creeping out of the park and ride lot and creeping to the first stop light (which is always backed up in the evening).
I would LOVE for that to be my typical first five minutes. Even now with good weather, it's just a shade under 25 MPG. In the winter it hovered around 15 MPG (and often the second bar was just under 25 MPG, too).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(brad34695 @ Jun 6 2007, 02:24 PM) </div> I have read everyone's replies and maybe I will have to pay closer attention to my first 5 miniutes more. I THOUGHT I was always closer to 40 MPG. Maybe I'm mistaken. If so, I apologize!! Brad Tampa Bay Florida
That's typical for me...when it's warmer, I might do a little better than that, but not usually. I wouldn't complain if I were you! - Doug
