I have been searching around for a good price and have found decent ones, but not as close to what I have seen others post on this forum. The best quote I have gotten is 25274 (package 5 and carpet floormats) that works out to 28078 out the door. Does anyone think I can do better? If so any opinions on what should i maybe do to try to get it lower?

Ryan, read through www.carbuyingtips.com and keep in mind hat the auto market is not stable. Americans have short term memories and buy on impulse. Gas goes down & the media reports hybrid sales are in the toilet. Gas goes up & "everyone" wants one. Now that gas prices are on the rise I doubt you will be able to match the prices others have paid in the recent past. All you can do is shop around and see what they are selling for now. Doesn't matter what they sold for yesterday, last week, last month or last year. If the cheapest price is in a distant state, how much will it cost for you to go there or for the car to get to you?

Now that you have quotes it is time to counteroffer. If dealers won't budge then you either have to accept their price and be happy with the car or don't buy the car. Happy hunting.

Have you tried getting internet quotes from Edmonds and CarsDirect? From personal experience don't try Bob Toyota or Larry Miller Toyota in Phoenix, both are full of it. Avondale may be a far drive from you but gave me a quote of just under $26k w/ the tax discount of a $12500 trade in but they don't have any in stock until the end of the month. We ended up purchasing in San Diego. They have package 5s in stock and are willing to deal. Got a quote of $23900 from a dealership when they weren't in stock last month and had a dealership that did have one in stock match it. Got out the door w/ taxes and non-resident military tags for just under $26k. Of course they were a little po'ed when we didn't purchase the way overpriced warranty and maintenance agreement.
