<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(pola @ May 14 2007, 10:12 AM) </div> A poll, I like that idea. I will search, and if none, I will start one. Tell your boyfriend that silver dissapears in the fog and someone will total your new car if you don't get the Silver Pine Mica. Fiona is a clever name for a Silver Pine Mica Prius. I wonder if I should have nemed mine Shrek? But then does is turn into a regular skin tone color during the day? I worry about such things.
I chose my Silver Pine Mica Touring for color over options and price. With only standard options it was several thousand less than those with option packages.
I bought my Prius in SPM on Sunday, and specifically went to Northridge to get that colour. I love it, in the couple days I've had it everyone has commented on how much they like the colour, I can't stop staring at it out my office window. It also stands out in a parking lot, especially compared to my last car which was black.
Can I join? SweetPri is 2 weeks old tonight and so far we are very happy. I specifically wanted this color because, like DGCL, I came from 11 years with a black car and I was ready for a big change.
i lOVE my silver pine mica prius. i wanna be a member too! it was the BEST decision, between the new grey & this. i'm so happy.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(pola @ May 14 2007, 10:12 AM) </div> The poll suggested by pola is up and running. If all SPM members vote for "Light Green" we can take the lead. Can you believe I quoted our color wrong? Please don't kick me out of the SPM club. I repent.
Count me in! I bought my SPM Prius on Earth Day. A neighbor of mine bought one about 6 weeks before me, and I loved the way it looked. At first I thought it would be unoriginal to get the same color car, since we seem to park next to each other often in our condo parking lot. So I considered Seaside Pearl, then I saw a Barcelona Red and thought it looked sharp, but then changed my mind and decided to heck with the neighbor, I'm going with the green. So far no one has left any notes on the windshield accusing me of being a copycat. Added bonus: all that green pollen that covers your car in the spring doesn't show up on the SPM paint! Now if only it could be less visible on the windows...
One of my co-workers bought a Prius two weeks before I did. She didn't tell me which color. She went out of town for two weeks. I didn't have a chance to see her car. My wife and I bought a Silver Pine Mica Prius about 10 days ago. I took it to work on a day when my co-worker returned from out of town. Guess what? She bought a Silver Pine Mica Prius, too. Now there are two Silver Pine Mica Prii in the parking lot outside the building where we work. Many of our fellow co-workers take second looks when they see our cars parked side by side.
After my Seaside Pearl was totaled last week, I went looking for the SPM color because that was the color I originally wanted. They are not plentiful in this area. If you are looking on line at various dealer websites-at least in Southern California- you will find it, listed as Pistachio Metallic (ick). When I askd the sales rep., she said that Toyota had provided the wrong color code, so it came up on the local websites incorrectly. I love my Silver Pine Mica!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(michael_prius @ May 1 2007, 09:33 PM) </div> I wanted a pine mica.... Toyota, in their infinite wisdom, do not ship them to New Mexico. The only one I could find at either Albuquerque dealer was a used one, this at a time when both dealers had around 10 on the lot each. Both dealers said they NEVER get them in. WHAT'S WITH THAT??? :-(
I made the leap and am waiting for my Silver Pine Mica to arrive at the dealer, possibly this weekend or next week at the latest...
In another Forum Post a person referred to Silver Pine Mica as a "girlie" color....... I think she was just sort of kidding I guess, but regardless it sparked a lot of feedback and quite a few defensive replies !! I am a 6' 1", 320 pound guy !! I don't want to use the old, worn-out word "Macho" but I am certainly NOT a "wimp".......... I think SPM is a really nice, soothing color with enough "metallic" in it to produce shade variances depending on light (full sun, cloudy, dusk, under sodium street light, etc.) Have you seen the larger Toyota's in that color (Avalon?)........ some say it's not classy in a "large" sedan but I disagree there too. We all have our "favorite colors" and after having black, dark green, red, white, light blue, dark blue, turquoise blue, silver, brown, greenish-dark gray metallic, three golds and presently a metallic tan, vehicles I really enjoy our SILVER PINE MICA color very much !! And BTW, it really looks sharp with the GRAY cloth interior, something we were very concerned about at first since we did NOT want the bisque (too light, gets dirty too easily, etc.) !!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FloridaWen @ Jun 5 2007, 09:09 AM) </div> I don't see how it's a "girlie" color. Sounds like someone has issues!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(nytimez @ Jun 5 2007, 06:20 PM) </div> This was part of her quote in reference to "girlie" colors: To each his (or her) own.......... different strokes for different folks.......... this is what makes the world go 'round !!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FloridaWen @ Jun 5 2007, 06:27 PM) </div> I'm not even sure what that means - "girlie colors (a.k.a, colors)" - is anything that's a color a "girlie color"? And "non-colored colors"? Isn't grey a color? Whatever - they can have whatever issues they have. Grey is a nice color. So is Silver Pine. I'm happy with my choice and don't consider it to be "girlie" in any way. Plus, I don't base my machismo on the size or color of my car!
Did you ever see a "Mary Kay" (cosmetic sales) automobile........... usually a Caddy in PINK or sometimes just a cheaper GM in PINK ?? Now THAT is a "girlie" color............
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FloridaWen @ Jun 5 2007, 05:44 PM) </div> Girlie shmirlie! Since real men can wear pink , I guess we can drive SPM's too!
