Hi Guys! I installed DICE last November. I have a standard 05 prius with multi disc and no nav. For the most part, it has worked effectively but with random bugs that appear here and there. the latest one caused me to open the dash and re-plug everything because I wasn’t getting a connection at all between ipod and dice. It just kinda died on me. Now I get a connection, and I have music again! However, I'm not receiving text. I also have the strangest suspicion that the sound plays like mono oppose to stereo--like the music sounds empty in some spots, as if one of the channels is mute. I checked sound distribution and all speakers are working correctly. Maybe I'm going crazy? not sure....but anyway, It would be nice to get my text back My ipod charges fine, I can control playback from the steering wheel, all dip switches are in the up position (In Dice Mode), and I’ve reset both the dice unit and ipod many times to no avail. The pics below were taken while my ipod and dice were operating and playing songs. I also observed that the CD2 screen is perpetually reading "Disc 1 Track 20"...this was never the case before. Any assistance would be appreciated! [attachmentid=8498] [attachmentid=8499]
I can't help you specifically with the DICE, but I have the Dension ice>Link, which locks up often, and I have a suggestion for you. The next time you have to open up the dash to unplug and reset the DICE, move it so that it is mounted behind the bowed panel that sits above the floor hump. There's plenty of space there to mont something, and a couple of hard smooth surfaces where you can velcro it into place. The advantage of putting it there is that the bowed panel can be removed in seconds without removing any other dash panel. It will make it easier to reset the device the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th time you have to do it. This, of course, assumes that you can uplug the cable from the DICE unit itself and not just from the back of the radio. If the cable that goes to the radio is hardwired into the DICE unit, then you are out of luck. The ice>Link cable was seperate and you plugged one end into the ice>Link and the other end into the radio. I eventually got fed up popping the bowed panel off to reset the ice>Link and installed a push button on the power wire. So now all I have to do is push in the push button to disconnect the power and reset the ice>Link.
Thanks for the advice. I'm still without text. does anyone have any ideas? I'll keep messing with it...
Module popped. Send me a PM with your full contact and mailing address and I can setup a exchange for one with newer firmware.
