Moderator Note: The thread has gotten long with a LOT of places already posted. PLEASE review the previously posted locations in the intermittently updated list HERE And a Catagorized List Here. This thread: http://priuschat.com/Google-Maps-Street-View-t34006.html reminded me of a cool game I played before. Basically the rules are as follows: The first person attaches an image of a famous landmark found on Google Maps. The next person finds that landmark and includes three things: The name of that landmark. A link to that landmark on Google Maps (no skipping this step). An uploaded image of the next location to search for (don't skip this either). Hints are optional. Note: From Windows, if you find a location on Google maps you want to create an image for, you can use the "Print Screen" key to copy what's on your screen then paste into MS Paint (Start->Accessories->Paint) and crop as needed. Sound easy enough? Then let the games begin! Hint: She's from France.
This sounds fun... OK the Statue of Liberty, Link here http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...689502,-74.0447 And this place was made famous in a 70's movie Couldn't get the picture to display, just the file name, grrrr.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Marlin @ Jun 4 2007, 09:51 AM) </div> I notice there's a faint pentagon around it, so it must involve devil worship! I'm wondering if that's an array of solar reflectors pointing to a central heating element? (Like in the movie Sahara). But I'm not familiar with a unit like this, so it would take a lot of searching. Obviously in a sunny place. I'm stuck. hmmm, this is the closest I could get: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...p;z=16&om=1
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(nerfer @ Jun 4 2007, 11:08 AM) </div> Perhaps this picture will help.
Thanks for the clue, Marlin. Found the Burning Man site in the Nevada desert at http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...p;z=13&om=1 Sorry, I don't have time to find another spot (need to get back to work ) so I'll leave it open. Marlin. Since you're the one who idenitified the previous one, maybe it's your turn now
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(paulccullen @ Jun 4 2007, 12:06 PM) </div> I don't really have time either, so I'll lob an easy one out there.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Marlin @ Jun 4 2007, 11:17 AM) </div> Well, that's kind of the reverse way of doing it - you're supposed to have a aerial shot and people figure it out: [attachmentid=8515] I'm having problems posting a picture directly, the add-picture icon isn't working for me... had to copy the picture from google onto my desktop then add as an attachment and add into post. Is that right?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TonyPSchaefer @ Jun 4 2007, 12:27 PM) </div> Too easy for a fellow Chicagoan - that's Wrigley Field (2nd oldest professional baseball stadium in America): http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...p;z=17&om=1 Try this: [attachmentid=8516]

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...c=addr&om=1 OK- I recognized the Space Needle also, but I was looking for something else to post first. Here it is: (p.s.- forgot to crop! Also, that is the highest resolution available at that location- hope someone will recognize it!
