Date Ordered: 5 May 2004 Dealer Ordered From (Incl. City/State): Toyota of Palo Alto, Palo Alto, CA Timeframe given for delivery: 150 days Color: Any Option Package: #7 (AM) We got the call we'd been waiting for a couple of weeks ago - our Prius has been allocated (we ended up with a black one), and would be arriving "in the next couple of weeks". We called last week and got a timeframe of 1-6 October. Well, that's not going to happen, and other people who are waiting on the West Coast may also not see their cars when they were expecting to. We just spoke with Jonathon Latchford at our dealer (he's the guy who tracks all their Prius orders), and the expected delivery date has been slipping every day - it's still 6-10 days away. This is due to congestion at the Port of Los Angeles - according to http://money.netscape.cnn.com/news_story.j...ckerSymbols=UNP labour shortages and a record amount of trans-Pacific shipping have led to delays in unloading, with over 100 vessels waiting offshore to unload. After waiting 5 months already, you'd think that we wouldn't mind another week or two... but of course the closer something gets, the more you want it.
Re: Any colour #7; 5 May 2004; Palo Alto, CA - DELAYED at po We picked up our Prius on Saturday (9 October)- we ended up with a black car, ivory interior. We took it out for a drive yesterday to a local state park; it averaged about 25mpg up the 3000 foot climb, and well over 100mpg on the descent (the engine almost never turned on). The delay at the LA port ended up adding about a week to the delivery time.
Re: Any colour #7; 5 May 2004; Palo Alto, CA - DELAYED at po Also, we've decided to get the vanity plate "DUKTIG". It's Swedish, and means "capable; clever; efficient". This seemed appropriate, somehow.
Re: Any colour #7; 5 May 2004; Palo Alto, CA - DELAYED at po Congrats... know you'll love the Prius... Bob Andersen
