It seems Nissan's version of the secure key can disabled if a cellphone goes off in close proximity to it! I've not heard of this happening with the secure key. link
My friend received a recall letter for this issue about two weeks ago on his Infinity. Either they use the same system as the Nissan, or are similar enough to be affected by the same quirk. The solution was two replacement keys. The general gist was that if the two were both in the same pocket and touching during an incoming call, the ikey could become fubared - so don't do that -Ken
Yeah, it's the same with the Toyota smartkey...if I have that and my Sidekick in the same pocket, the car refuses to recognize it.

In our sks some have noticed that when the fob is in the same pocket as a cell phone interference may causse it to not work. Separate/carry the fob away from the phone and it works again. In the Nissan I-key system, the problem was that the interference from an incoming call made the I-key non-functional even when moved away from the interference source. It could not be made to work again or reprogrammed and had to be replaced.
i have a ti-83 graphing calculator, and my cell phone went off right next to it. the calulator then said "memory cleared" its a powerful EM signal coming off the cell when it gets a phone call. ever have your cell ring next to a speaker? you can hear it!
