i had this problem with my '07 and it drove me crazy as well. however i would describe it as more of a 'crackling' noise from the passenger seat. i even took it to the dealer and had a mechanic ride around with me. found out that the noise didn't occur when someone sat on the passenger side. even when sitting in the back, it seemed like the noise wasn't as noticeable. also, as described by others- when applying pressure on the seat, like pushing/pulling on the right side edge, the noise would stop. it's like the seat is loose and just shifting around as i drove. one day i put the passenger seat all the way back and then stuffed some cloth in the open spaces of the round 'axle' part that separates the back from the bottom of the seat and it seemed to stop the noise. after a couple of days i removed the cloth to see if the noise would come back and so far it hasn't. very strange. it's like the cloth shifted around the space in the joints. or perhaps pushing the seat all the way back to it's max (so it's touching the back seats) might have helped. by the way, i have factory leather seats, which i was told are prone to these kind of noises. heck the dealer was just about ready to take the seat apart for me to try and stop the noise since it was driving me mad. i just didn't feel comfortable about that, as they likely would have made the problem worse. by the way, whatever you do, don't spray wd-40 around the area, from what i hear it will be very difficult to get rid of the wd-40 smell (use silicone if you have to)
My leather seats are quiet when driving solo. The only noise coming from them is the jibber/jabber when taking along a passenger.
I, too, have a noise coming from my passenger seat when no one is in it. I describe it as a rattling noise and it really annoyed me for the first couple of months. Over time I got used to it, but it still does it to this day. Also, I do not have leather seats.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(local_host @ Mar 29 2007, 02:30 AM) </div> I'm hearing this sound now after a few weeks of driving (with no passenger sitting there). I think it's the plastic casing near the tracks below the passenger seat. If I apply pressure to that area I hear the same sound. It's really annoying - even pushing the passenger seat belt buckle in towards the seat will cause the crackling. I'll mention it to my dealer when I take it in for my first free oil change. Otherwise I'm not sure what I can do.
