While backing out of the local McDonald's an elderly lady (I am 56) side swiped my right right bumper with her tire on her honking SUV. Scuffed up the bumper on our 2006 Super White Prius and cracked the right rear taillight lens. Old gal didn't even stop. I got her license plate and filed it with the insurance company. Have to wait until Tuesday for the body shop to open. Why oh why did my baby have to get dinged.

If its a bumper and taillight only, shouldn't be that big of a deal. If its more than that, make sure though your shop has been I-CAR trained on Hybrids or go to the dealer (hate that thought). They need to know what their doing to protect your car and themselves from it.

People drive like idiots, with no regard for their surroundings, or other property. My wife's Outback has been scraped at least 3 times on the left rear corner, while parked at the Library, where she works. We took many years to have the first time fixed, until there was other damage (not her fault) to repair at the same time. The same area has been hit at least twice again since the first one was repainted. People drive like uncaring idiots. Good luck with yours.

Technically that's hit and run; you should have called the police, not just the insurance company. If nothing else the police report stating she was at fault (its easy to tell, paint transfer) would have helped a lot with the insurance.
