Hi everyone! I'm looking into getting a 07 prius and got the following quote. Do you think it's a good deal? I will need to get it asap as I have no car right but don't want to get burn on the price either.

    07 Base Prius + package 5
    $26,889 Out the door

    07 Base Prius + package 2
    $24239 Out the door

He's basically quoting me 200 over the invoice. What do you think? I still can't decide between the packages. The bluetooth and nav in package 5 is tempting, but I heard from many friends that toyota's nav is not really that good. So I'm a little hesitant and am leaning toward pkg2 with the lower price.

any input will be welcome. Thanks!! :D

You can get a better price,,,, I just let one go -
    Carlsbad - Base + #5 = $24,043 + TT&L - Talk to Alfred
    Longo had a price (same package) $24,439 + TT&L

I'm not in CA but getting one from Costa Mesa (same package) for $23,774 flatbedded to Texas ($650) - don't have to pay CA tax that way.

All these quotes were about $2000 less than Houston.

    Hope this helps.

I bought an 07 prius with NAV about 7 months ago and I love it. I'm a huge gps nut and I've owned many Garmin units and I've used many other manufacturers gps's as well. I must say this is my first built in to the car gps and I love it. I've also used other in car navigation systems and I must say this is one of the best I've seen in comparison. Yes it has its qwerks and you'll find every different gps will have it's pros and cons. I must tell you that the gps in the prius is very well integrated and it's part of the whole experience of owning a prius. I can't imagine mine without it but if you decide to save the money just get a Garmin unit and stay away from Magellin.
As for the price, ask your dealer about the $2000. rebate they offer in the recent Prius commercials. I'm sure no matter what though it will be hard to haggle for a car as popular and in demand as the prius.I LOVE my prius and don't regret anything. Also last thing, if you're not getting NAV then check out the Touring edition which is also around 26k and drives awsome. I wished they offered NAV in the touring edition but they don't, at least not when I bought mine.

Good luck! I LOVE my Prius!!!

Keep an eye out this weekend. In San Diego there has been sale prices on all non-touring models for $3K off of MSRP. I picked up a #2 last weekend at Kearny Mesa Toyota for $20,569 (about $22,400 OTD). A family member also picked up a #2 two weeks ago for $19,888 (ad loss leader) @ Toyota of San Diego. Internet / Fleet prices in San Diego for a #2 are around $21,500, about the same as LA.

It would be worth a trip south for that kind of savings.

    Good Luck!

    Drew

Just remember,,, you can't have MINE!!!!

South Coast Toyota - talk to Korinne or Kathy. They have been extremely helpful and friendly. No pressure about anything.

    Oh, 3 last thing----

    1) Yes all the prices I listed were for Package #5
    2) I didn't get the Touring, however, it is now sold with package #5 also (including Nav)

    3) Just got an email from Toyota of Pasadena - selling all hybrids at Factory Invoice this weekend, I got a good quote from Pasadena myself, but they didn't have the color I wanted

    Hope all this info helps.

If you want a package #2, you can probably get one for $21,500 from Toyota of Hollywood. Great salesman there, Wayne Douglas. Just bought mine last week, it was effortless.

I love the NAV. As others have pointed out, Garmin does better with the user interface, but having the NAV system completely integrated with the Prius is worth it, in my opinion.

Thanks everyone for providing such useful info! I really appreciate it. I have already contacted toyota hollywood, pasadena, south coast, and even the two san diego dealership for quotes (yes, i AM willing to drive down if it's a good deal. it'll be a nice test drive, right? ;) ) Hopefully they will get back to me soon with better rates. I am looking to buy this weekend for sure.

With regard to the NAV system, have any of you compare it with the Honda's NAV? because a lot of my friend said that Toyota's NAV is not as good compared to her Honda accord's. She just bought a camry with nav last year for her parents and hated the nav. any thoughts?

i purchased a prius basic, pkg 2, for $23,520 before taxes, almost $500 less, than with the so-called costco special price at another local dealership.
    go figure/

Sorry, just saw your question of where I bought my car.

The 2007 Prius Package #5 I bought on May 10, 2007 was at Limbaugh Toyota in Birmingham, AL.

The MSRP was $28,800 and the out the door price I paid including all taxes, license, etc. was $24,800.

You are welcome to email me at [email protected].

    Thanks and good luck,
    Malcolm
