Has anyone figured out how to rewire the shifter to reverse the sequence so that park is out and drive is in? (2002 Prius) Thanks, Sore knee
Why would you want to do that? Besides, park is on a separate button, not part of the shifter, at least on mine.
<_< IMO, the well-thought-out design of the Prius shifter (and many other elements) would be very difficult to improve. My 2¢

Surely it's just a sequence of pins in a connector to map the shifter position to the transmission signals. Wouldn't it be great to be able to see the dashboard while you're driving?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Pittsburgh Bill @ Jun 1 2007, 01:59 PM) </div> not exactly. it's a pretty substantial mechanical device. there is a type of switch inside there, but the first gen prius has a steering column lock. so even if you rewire the switch successfully, you wouldn't be able to turn the steering wheel when you shift to drive.
