Nobody would believe me when I bought my prius at that time gas was hovering here at 2.29 in March, but I knew it was going to happen and gas here in Akron, OH hit 3.50 gal. and there is widespread panic. In the past I would have been outraged but seeing a few jackasses with sports cars and SUV's made me laugh. LOL Was wondering though how much is gas everywhere else, and if anyone else finds it amusing.

    Uh-oh...smug alert ;)
Seriously though, high gas prices hurt everyone so I can't say I'm happy to see it. I do however find I have the urge to pat myself on the back for being foresighted enough to purchase a Prius. Watching jackasses squirm always has merit.

I find it amusing only to the one I know that gave me sh*t about how it wont save gas its a fad be gone next week lol hahahah and then there is this one friend who has to have this 3/4 and or 1 ton p/u's he might have sold the 1 ton and does not need it, his wife wanted to go fishing he said its too far gas is expensive now last month he was ready to pay anything cause he likes his big as$ truck so that amuses me to no end
I told him just yesterday we were getting 53 mpg he said thats not too good, I said what. so I told him to chk out the prius for himself and test drive it. " No gas will come down" ok come back to reality I say.

I laugh to the bank in comparison to our jeep mpg

People appear to be brainwashed and numbed by advertising and history. I keep a complete record of fuel consumption. On my 2005 I was able to show at 30,000 mi history and 60 mpg. Typical reaction to the spreadsheet, "I don't believe it!" (as if I had falsified the numbers).

Our 2007 just turned 9200 mi and is earning 50 mpg (not quite broken in, warmer air temperatures just arrived). I look forward to gasoline being $10 per gallon! Thus, it will be $100 to fill a Prius, $200 to $250 to fill an SUV. I would like the "extra" to go into infrastructure - light rail, walking paths, public plug-in and photovoltaic systems. This will help push the move to PHEV and EVs.

$3.44 in central Illinois for the low grade stuff.

My best friend picked up his 2007 White Prius with Package 4 today and he is really glad he did when he saw gas shoot up again.

Averaging right around $3.40 here in the Portland, OR area...They say we have the third highest gas prices in the country! Ugh... Just got my Prius a week ago tomorrow, and I'm glad I did!

    To all Prius folks everywhere.....

Isn't it awesome to once in awhile be proven right??

Here in Bellingham (and most of Washington State) we are around $3.52 average per gallon!!!
I agree with some previous posters here in that $5.00 or $6.00 /gallon gas would be a benificial thing to finally get some serious public attitude and conservation changes to stick. No other way, I am afraid will do it.
It is unfortunate that it will hurt less fortunate folks the most and there the gov. should step in and provide assistance until the population "adjusts" to the high cost. Europe did it and so will we have to eventually...why not start now??!!

I just bought my second Prius last week when I traded my 04' in on an 07'. Extended warranty was running out and with a lease on a new one, it made perfect sense. They are literally flying off the lot in my town!

So...to all those non-Prius owners (still) out there reading this forum.......GO DO THE RIGHT THING!

    Peace.

    Huh?
The only thing that has hurt us more than high gas prices is LOW gas prices. If gas cost $5 for the past 10 years, how many Hummers would you see on the road today? Escalades? Would we have seen more progress in alternative energy?

Few things have hurts us more than cheap gas.

Google says gas here is $3.35 for regular. It will be ~$3.80 in the summer, and $4 at the beginning of next year. Mark my words. Gas prices are not going down.

A nearby Hess station had regular at $2.99 today, but most places around here are now around $3.05-$3.10.

$4.54 here, converted into US gallons and US dollars. Count me in with skruse and darelldd in thinking it's too low to cover the real costs, and to encourage cheaper and saner alternatives.

The lowest I've seen around here in Nashville is $3.11. I'm on my first tank and I wanted to see how far she would go, but at 440 miles I'm going to have to get some tomorrow before the prices get really high for the long weekend.

I haven't been out on the roads today, but yesterday the nearby Hess
and some of the other traditionally cheaper places were still just
barely sub-$3 as adamg observed. Mass. seems to have been tracking
slightly lower than all the other areas I've seen described through
this thread.. sounds like everything went up again today, though.

Ya know what cracks me up the most? How many hand-made "3" numerals I see. As if the stations were taken by surprise when every price started with $3. Did they really NOT see this coming? Again? I mean what did they do with all the 3's from last time?

Many E's are becoming 3's as we speak.
