Any guidance on getting Homelink to work. I've watched the video from www.homelink.com and I know mine isn't a rolling code. I've cleared the Homelink memory as was able to set the button (fast blink) and it still isn't working. I got frustrated so I programmed all 3 buttons to the same remote and none of them work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A little more info about your garage door opener will help. Without much info, it's hard to find the answer. :huh:
First off, while your regular remote may only require a quick press of the button to open the garage door, you have to press the HomeLink button for almost a full second to make it work. That threw me at first. I would give it a quick press, just like I would do with the remotes that came with the opener, and nothing would happen. Finally, I pressed and held it and after about 1 second, the door opened up. Others have reported this behavoir as well, so before you do anything else, try holding the button down for a couple of seconds and see if that works. As for programming... From what I remember with both of my garage door openers, the process was thus: 1) Train the HomeLink from one of the garage door remotes 2) Press the little red button on the back of the garage door opener to put it into "Add" ("train", "Learn", whatever) mode. 3) Then, within 30 seconds of pressing the little red button on the garage door opener, press and hold the HomeLink button until the garage door opener light flashes.

HI GottaGetOne It required three 'tries' for me to program my Homelink Mirror to my garage door opener. I was not EXACTLY following the instructions step by step, within the time limits stated. Since my opener is a rolling code, it required that I set up a ladder to reach the appropriate 'button' on the opener motor housing and within the (I believe) 30 seconds get back in the Prius and complete the procedure. A previous comment is right: Once you get it programmed and working, you will need to hold down the button on the mirror longer than you would normally hold the button on your original remote... watch for the mirror button to flash rapidly to confirm that the signal has been transmitted. Keep after it... you'll win that battle.
im going to take a guess and ill probably be wrong, but my guess is that just about every garage door opener made since 1980 or so is a rolling code. you either have a ww2 garage door openor that opens all your neighbors garage door, dip switches on the gararge door opener for a total of 2^256 combinations, or you have a rolling code. if the garage door opener has a 'add' button on the unit, then its a rolling code, and you need to press that button to get it to reconize the car

I've found the manual but it doesn't indicate it's a rolling code or not. I'm going to make my 6th attempt to program my Homelink. Wish me luck!
My parent's opener is a rolling code one, but I never was able to get it to link using the instructions on the opener. In the opener's manual I found a second way, which worked the first time.
SUCCESS!!!! After about 6 attempts and 4 hours of my time I've successfully programmed our Homelink. The trick for me was using a factory remote/clicker. I was trying to program the HomeLink w/ an aftermarket remote that would open the garage but wouldn't properly program the HomeLink. I borrowed a neighors controller in our complex and it worked the first attempt. Thanks all for the support!
