Hey all - Did a search, no good info. Noticed there was a "set" button, under the steering wheel, close to the floor. I have a base model, NO bells & whistles... what does this set button do?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rxmxsh @ May 19 2007, 09:47 PM) </div> Does the base model have the tire pressure sensor system? If so, this is probably the button you press to set the monitoring system after you change tire inflation pressure. The manual is your friend. There should be a page showing what all the buttons are for with a page number to learn more. - Tom
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tom_06 @ May 19 2007, 08:13 PM) </div> I'll have to check to see if I have a pressure sensor. Being a base model, I doubt it. And since I don't have SKS, I KNOW that isn't what the button is for....
Sounds like you could be talking about the cruise control which is standard on all packages. It should have both Set and Res (resume) on it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rxmxsh @ May 19 2007, 06:47 PM) </div> It's the "Tire Pressure Monitoring System" set feature. If you change a flat or change the PSI in your tyres, you press (and hold?) the SET button to "calibrate" the computer so that they computer knows when your tyres are low in pressure. This also works if you pump up the PSI in your tyre. The computer calculates a certain % from your set pressure to sound the alarm so if you decide to change the pressures in your tyres from the stock setting of 35/33, then after you've adjusted the pressures, press (and hold?) set. The instructions are in the manual.

**SIGH** It's clearly explained in the Owner's Manual: Pages 152-154. Lots of great information in that Manual.
You know what I don't get? People who take the time to look it up, then TELL you where they found the info, but then not share the info.. What does that accomplish? Yes - I get I could have looked it up, but I didn't. I understand that. I read through the manual when I first got the car, but a lot of it didn't apply to my base model. So I skimmed. Heaven forbid that I ask a question that someone MIGHT know off the top of their head. I never asked anyone to look it up; I just wanted to know if somone else KNEW from their own experience. That all being said, I like this site and the people who post here. It's informative, but the tag line seems to be - "read the manual and quit asking questions".

Every time I see the title of this topic, I see the words, "Sex Button." It's happened three times now...
