I proceeded to swipe my card, fill up, take my receipt, then drove around their ugly glares as their pumps continued to count up the gallons... it was very satisfying :-D

I am seeing fewer SUVs than a year ago. Does anyone know how much commission a salesperson makes on a PrIUS selling at, say MSRP?
Good question... I would probably say not very much - it's a hard sell! You have to give them big commission on the gas guzzlers, though, otherwise they wouldn't sell any!
Yeah, yeah, we all love to feel smug and make fun of the idiots driving gas-guzzling behemoths. But deliberately pissing them off is NOT the way to get them to adopt hybrids and other energy-saving solutions. Think of the big picture. We're trying to save the planet (right?) Still, those cartoons are pretty darn funny
Yesterday I drove to a truck stop to weigh my Xebra because there's a guy who's designing better springs for it, and he wanted to know the axle weights. As I was getting into my car after talking to the folks inside about weighing, a man said to me, "What's an electric car doing at a gas station?"
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daniel @ May 18 2007, 09:59 PM) </div> That's pretty funny. I hate to say it, but I probably would have said something like, "I'm just showing you guys what it's like not having to buy gas."
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(daniel @ May 18 2007, 09:59 PM) </div> I get the electric car thing all the time. It seems as most people in Ohio (and Virginia) think that Hybrid means either gas or battery (electric) power and that you only use gas when your battery dies. During a visit to VA, my mother in law actually said before you go plugging in how much is my electric bill going to increase.
