Need help installing the block heater from Toyota parts. Saw some posts about the heater but could NOT find the place under the block in which to insert the unit? If anyone has done this and has photos and detailed instructions, it would be greatly appreciated. footnote .. added the the Weathertech Side Window deflectors to my 06.. the ones on the back windows rattle on nearly every bump.. Installed according to directions. Anyone have the same problem and figure a clean way to resolve?? FINALLY... added the BT Tech chassis stiffener plate and drove it on a windy day the next morning... MAJOR difference in stability.... major!! Still waiting on my SCANGAUGE II to ship...
Never mind... just saw the detailed post on the install... no wonder 2 dealers did NOT want to do it for me... what a job... so my next question will be.. .how to install the Scangauge...when I receive it... still waiting...
http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/heatgames/ . If you're willing to wait a couple of weeks and are willing to travel a little ways into NJ, possibly to hang out at the EEVC event, maybe we could hook up there and install it if you haven't taken care of it by then. . _H*

All you really need to do is plug it in, though most choose to mount it somewhere within their line of sight. I have mine secured to the dash with adhesive Velcro. Here's a pic (of the first generation SG):
If after reading the LONG block heater thread and the more recent posts you still don't want to tackle the job then take Hobbit up on his offer if you can. If you can't make it to Hobbit and can wait, I probably will make a swing through PA and VA this summer and would be glad to do it for you. And yes, those back deflectors do rattle, the clips are the cause, but you have to have them as the little strips of sticky on the side edges won't hold them in. Wayne
