[attachmentid=8052] [attachmentid=8050] Just want to share photo of my two kids, and why I bought the Prius vs. the Civic Hybrid. also added a pic of my bike.(same gas consumption(almost)) Its been a week and my average consumption is 5.5L/100km for about 500kms. Is there any mod that will beep the horn to confirm that you locked the car(mine doesn't come with the alarm system). without getting a security alarm system. One thing i find difficult wth my car is to close the hatch and not realizing this could leave my car open in a public parking lot. Also which Pet barrier will fit inside? Im loving my car and its nice to have a net-community for it. Good day to all [attachmentid=8055]
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DjEZ @ May 15 2007, 01:20 PM) </div> Oh - what Cute babies. The hatch is just perfect playpen for them
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DjEZ @ May 15 2007, 10:20 AM) </div> Your kids are better behaved than mine; they try to jump out when the hatch is open. Can you hear a confirmation beep when you lock the door using the keyfob? I think that they all do this. It is not as loud as the horn though.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(dogfriend @ May 15 2007, 02:02 PM) </div> no, no beep only the lights will confirm it, i was used with my old car with the alarm, I like the horn beep so whenever i worry that i didnt lock the car, ill just press the key lock and hear it from inside while im inside the house. Also i need something which will automaticaly lock the door if i forgot it.(does mine should do that?)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DjEZ @ May 15 2007, 11:18 AM) </div> I don't know of a horn mod, but maybe someone else will chip in. I have seen a mod to automatically lock the doors after the car starts moving: http://www.coastaletech.com/auto_door_lock.htm and a thread on it: http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=2...mp;hl=door+lock
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(dogfriend @ May 15 2007, 03:22 PM) </div> Thanks , I have seen that but dont really need that since i dont have kids and i usually automatically close lock my door by habit, maybe i will end up getting security alarm installed. my dog dont jump out(the net seve as detterent or they just havent discovered it ), but they do like jumping inside, which i like to solve by putting a pet barrier. SO which pet barrier will fit best inside the prius? I was thinking of cutting some plexiglass and using it as barrier but dried dog drool on it would cloud it up easilly.
I haven't tried this, but it might work for you: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod...p;N=2001+113233 One of my dogs travels nicely on the back seat - the other one is very skillful and will eventually end up in the passengers lap.
OMG I burst out laughing when I saw the OP pic. That is sooo cute. I used to have a German Schnauzer standard growing up and loved that dog! Great pic!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(larkinmj @ May 15 2007, 07:01 PM) </div> Check here for Dog Helmets...! We tried them out but they didn't work with my dogs' ears! http://www.zoomergear.com/product.html
They're darling. How do they like that little back window. It's like it's made for them, a little doggie window to see where they've been.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Godiva @ May 16 2007, 07:12 PM) </div> My little dog loves the back window, but unfortunately he leaves nose prints all over the glass.
Ahhh, I love mini schnauzers! My baby is black and white, but yours match your car color, how cool is that? My schnauzer is 4 years old, and way too smart for his own good! I suffered through two years of chew-tality!
Hi DjEZ, Very cute! The hatch does seem to work very well for pets, though I don't currently have a dog to ride around with me. Although here in Toronto is not as hot as some more southern locales, I would be wary of taking the dogs in the hatch though the hot "dog days" (pun intended) of summer. I would think that sun could get kinda hot magnified by the rear window, with a relatively small space for air circulation above the rear seat...? As rare as Prius remain in Toronto (especially non-silver, but getting better), if you see a Seaside Blue driving across the 401, it's probably me, so don't forget to wave!
I got my Prius mainly got my dog too (pug/chihuahua mix). Though, I'm dissapointed he's already learned to jump over the back seat and try to get to the front of the car to sit in my lap. Need to break him out of that habit, any feedback on that woudl be awesome
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Bendial @ May 17 2007, 10:43 AM) </div> Safest is to either crate him and put him in the back or get a harness that attaches to the seat belt (there are several different ones available). I have to admit, though, that I don't do this with our dogs. But we make them go back to the back seat. The little one (mutant Min Pin mix) is quite persistent about trying to work his way up to a least make contact with the passenger while riding.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DjEZ @ May 15 2007, 01:20 PM) </div> Maybe it's just me, but I can't see how they'll be able to work the controls on either vehicle...
