Greetings, We are looking at adding a second Prius to our family (the first one is a 2006 Pkg 1). I know that we want a 2007 pkg #2 "Seaside Pearl". I contacted some dealers by e-mail and got a couple of quotes for about $22,800 + tax + DMV fees... no negotiation yet. Is there anyone out there who has recently bought a pkg #2 that could give us a clue on how low are the dealers willing to go these days? Thanks! PS: A recommendation of a painless - honest dealer in the Southern California area will be most appreciated as well.

I'm not sure how much this will help you as I'm in Northern California but I got my package #2 for $22,330 (not including fees, license, taxes, etc).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(moxiequz @ Mar 6 2007, 12:18 AM) </div> Check the dealer forum, some folks are getting $2500+ off priuses, I got my base prius for $20494 last week.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(luckyboy @ Mar 5 2007, 09:27 PM) </div> Concur. I got my package 5 one month ago for invoice. You should be able to find someone willing to go close. ...although, with the way the gas price has been shooting up, it's hard to say
$22,600 (and including 4 oil/filter changes and full tank of gas) in Portland, Oregon. Negotiations with several dealers started at $23,150 (package #2 in the color we wanted and with a rear-bumper decal for preventing scratches). We also took advantage of the 0% 24 months loan (to let the money earn interest).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(M & T in Cali @ Mar 5 2007, 09:03 PM) </div> I am wondering about something. In the area we live in (Tulsa, OK) the Toyotas come to the dealers through Gulf States Toyota, Inc. ( the distributor). Our 2007 with package #1 also had a package # BO which was a distributor installed item. It was called "Extra Mile Option Package B, and included these items: RS 3200 Plus Security System Carpeted Floor Mats ( 5 piece set ) Carpet Floor Mats Trunk Mat Mud Guards Cargo Net Fabric Guard Rear Bumper Protector Custom Tape Stripe First Aid Kit Wheel Locks No charge Extra Mile Benefits Road Hazard Warranty (3 years/36,000 Miles) Roadside Assistance (6 years/100,000 Miles) $1,092.00 It also had distributor installed package PV Permavin/Glass Etch & Limited Warranty $199.00 It also had distributor installed package P4 (Vehicle Shield Package) Lusterizing Sealant Sound Shield Sealant Cleaner Rental Car Assistance $349.00 I realize that part of this stuf is pure FLUFF, but my point is that all the cars around here come with some of this stuf, and there are other distributor installed options too. If you want a particular car, then you have to take what is on it. This is not the norm for only the Prius, but all Toyotas. When we bought our 05 Avalon a couple of years ago, we were able to get on XL and the only distributor installed options were a 6 disk changer and the floor mat set. That was a rather rare care because it had almost no distributor options. So my question is: When people post on this forum they only mention the package that comes with the car from the factory. Such as #2 or #3, etc. Do the other parts of the country also have the other distributor added items which run the price of the car up or not. We paid $23,435.00 plus un-avoidable dealer fee of $245.00 for our package #2 Prius with all of that other stuf on it. Some of that other stuf, I would have bought any way, but not all of it. We also got from the dealer, 3 oil and filter changes, 100,000 mile power train warranty (If we let them do the scheduled maintenance) and 100,000 mile free tire replacement (If we let them rotate the tires every 5,000 miles) Warren
I'm in Northern California (specifically the SF Bay Area/Peninsula). The only possible added option I saw when comparison shopping was the floor mats and those were included by all the dealers at all the package levels (even package #0). The sticker price for them is $199 but they're usually rolled into the final quote (or added "free of charge").
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(okiebutnotfrommuskogee @ Mar 13 2007, 09:02 AM) </div> Mine is a #2 package with enough Gulf States add-ons to put the sticker at $24,900. I only got $600 off (back in January). But I still love the car. Doesn't really matter that much if you drive it 'till the wheels fall off.
I got mine close to DC (in MD) for 20,740 price (apparently $1,350 below invoice). The sales people wanted to close April very high in sales so he bettered another offer from a competing dealer when I bought the car on April 29th. He required that I have the other offer in writing and as he hung up the other sales-woman e-mailed it to me! I found the initial sales-woman ($20790 in VA but with higher fees) through someone who had the nice idea to post in this forum. He saved me over $1k Moral of the story: search around on better deals and bargain!!!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Boink @ Mar 12 2007, 10:31 PM) </div> Congratulations! It sounds like you got a good deal. I'm in the process of finding a Package #2 in Ptld, OR. Which dealership did you buy your prius?
I JUST BOUGHT MY PACKAGE 2 LAST WEEK, ABOUT THE SAME PRICE, get them to throw in a window tint, it's sweet and saves a trip, not to mention $150.
PLEASE post the information about dealers in Southern California. I'll be buying a Prius in the LA area in about a month and would LOVE to know where I should go. My dad will be buying the car with me and he absolutely has no idea about haggling. We'll be paying in cash, so I'm hoping that'll make a difference.
Sounds like a great deal for a Pkg #2; apparently they lowered the package price just after I got mine. I wrote the big Toyota in the sky about that, but haven't heard back from them yet. Update: Heard from Toyota; they said they were sorry.
I went to thousand oaks Toyota, they were really great, I haggled, quite a bit for mine and go them to throw in the tint. the tax, maintenance and warranty put quite a bit onto the final price but I am covered head to toe for 6 years.
I just bought my Prius! I think I got a good deal. I contacted several deals, Costco and 3 dealers through Edmunds.com. The quotes were all very close but I ended up with the Costco quote. I bought package #2 (Super White, Bisque) and I paid $22369. Plus, I get one free oil change and 20% discount on service.
