Have political ads/banners been banned from PC?<strike> I notice your Obama banner is gone</strike>. Sorry, I was confused- it was Tony who had the Obama banner.
I didn't vote. I don't really care either way. But can you please consider banning the bouncing boobies? I read PC at work and it just draws too much attention. If I have to I'll put the user on ignore but I'd rather not. At least not yet.

Sorry but I don't see the connection between adhering to the rules of a privately owned message board and the Constitutional rights of Americans to express their political views via free speech. Unless your point was to construct this poll as our neo con right wingers would have constructed it.

Why would we wish to subject them to our political nonsense? If we allow these banners for us in the USA, do we then have to accept political banners from members in others countries? What would you, as a moderator, do if a Hamas "DEATH TO AMERICA" banner shows up in a member's signature? After all, it is ONLY a political statement. <_<
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(larkinmj @ May 13 2007, 12:27 PM) </div> Correct. I just tested it. Interesting. I wonder if chatboard software would support a TOTAL ignore feature that makes it appear that the ignored user doesn't exist at all in any capacity - even removing quoted excerpts from responses. The current ignore shows that an ignored user responded (complete with unexpurgated avatar and avatar title), and gives you the option right there to view the response or not. TOTAL ignore wouldn't show anything - it'd be as if no response had been made at all. And if the TOTAL ignored user started a new topic, you wouldn't even see the topic until someone responded to it - and you'd only see the response. The topic starter column would be blank on the forum menu. Mark Baird Alameda CA

A banner that banal would be pretty mild compared to the acid content of innumerable posts here in Fred's that in whole paragraphs are far more offensive and inflammatory than that to a wide variety of nationalities. Use of the ignore feature . . . isn't that like saying, "I wish to be ignorant"? After all, IGNORANT does come from the word IGNORE.

My post asserts that if anyone is going to take the time to follow a string of posts, understand what is going on, and try to make and informative or witty comment, they can't do so by selectively reading posts from only those not on their ignore list. Even those NOT on your ignore list are reading and replying to those blocked posts from people on your ignore list. Blissfully, but ignorantly, there you (whomever) are reading only some of the posts and not knowing why someone else may have responded the way they did. "Well, in my world, all people think alike . . . and I have learned ______ - because I am open minded, listen to all points of view, and come to my own conclusions." Yeah, right! Ignoramus!
