I can't believe gas went up 15 cents over night here in Kansas City! It's now at $3.15 in the Kansas Side of the state line. I'm sure glad I purchased my prius last week! I only paid $24.87 to fill up this morning and I'm good for another +400 miles!
That's about what it is in Denver, though our most recent hike was only $0.06 to $3.16 (though I've seen a few $3.20's as well).
The OP is lucky he lives in area w/relatively low gas prices compared to Cali. http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/KSmetro.asp says the avg in Kansas City, KS is $3.042 vs. $3.497 for me in San Jose, CA.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(tnymntna @ May 11 2007, 11:50 AM) </div> That's it? We saw a 30 cent spike here yesterday between the morning commute and the afternoon.
Just this morning (May 12, 2007) I saw gas @ $2.77 per gallon in Pflugerville (outside of Austin, TX). I paid $2.89 per gallon two days ago.
Well, in Sweden we pay just under 12 SEK / liter. That is about 45 SEK / USG. Witch with the currecy(?) of today gives about 6,45 $ / USG. So the gasoline in the US is very cheap.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Bernie S @ May 12 2007, 01:31 PM) </div> Except your prices have lots of taxes in them that pays for good roads and transportation systems.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Tideland Prius @ May 12 2007, 10:46 PM) </div> I havent been to Canada or to US so I dont know the condition of your roads, but I can tell you that many roads in Sweden are very very bad. Many times I wonder where do the money go. What finance your roads then ? dont you have tax on gas ? and a yearly roadtax on your car ? (sorry for my bad english)
Gas here in W. Michigan went to $3.29.....took $32 to fill up my Prius from the last bar (pip) at 9.2 gallons. If I was in my Olds (also a four cylinder) it would've cost me $44 for 13.5 gallons. Not too bad I think.
