Disclaimer: This is not a Prius-Only event, but will have some Prius owners there (me). Disclaimer: I'm a mileage nut, I do extreme things to increase fuel efficency. Live Green in Plano Expo May 5, 2007 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Plano Centre http://www.plano.gov/Departments/Environme...+in+Plano+Expo/ This is an annual expo that the City of Plano (near Dallas) puts on. Admission is Free and I've been told that there will be reserved parking for Hybrids . I've submitted a "Speaker Form" and trying to put together a presentation on EcoDriving. For those in Texas looking to meet up, I'll be there. I'll be presenting with Tony then later on solo: http://www.plano.gov/Departments/Environme...er_schedule.htm 11011011
Sounds interesting, I might consider going. Let me know if any plans come up for a mini-Prius meet as Delta Flyer suggested. edit: Nevermind, I just realized that Plano is north of Dallas, a little too far for me...

While in the area drop in at our efficient house. We're holding an open house tour on Sat, May 5th between 10am - 2pm. See details at The Westbrook House We have our pair of Prius cars on display and my friend will have his home-made electric car here which we'll be recharging with my 1.8kW wind turbine. We are in Fairview, TX (between Allen and McKinney) about 10 miles away from the Plano Centre. Paul
That's funny, just the other day I spent a good few hours reading about residential wind turbine use (from my research I found the Bergey XL1 to sound like a good potential candidate for cost effective residential use, but it's power output is quite low producing 1kW@27mph and you stated annual wind speeds in Texas of about 11 mph...). Anyway, I did happen to come across your website and did some reading on your Westbrook house. It sounds very interesting, I'd love to take a tour. Having said that, plus the Live Green in Plano Expo (with reserved Hybrid parking) and a possible Prius mini-meet for breakfast/lunch/dinner... It very well may be worth the trip. I just don't know how willing I am to spend 10 hours behind the wheel in a single day. I'll be spending all day tomorrow contemplating whether I should go or not. Once again, keep me updated with any plans for a get-together just in case I should happen to think about going, but 8am might be a little early for me as I'll have a roughly 5 hour drive, unless... I hit the road Friday night, stay in a hotel for the night and head home Saturday evening... hmm... now that sounds tempting...
