I've been thinking of painting my brake drums - either Black to match the car or a bright green. What would be the best type of paint to use (hopefully aerosol)? What kind of surface prep would I need. I know that it will have to be a heat resistant paint. Has anybody done it before? How successful were you in the application?

Just keep them black or a dark grey color. It will look silly if you paint them green!! I have done it many times, and there are a few good ways of doing it. I personally use the spray type. I just tape up everything around that shouldn't get paint on it, then give it about 5 coats, with about 10 mins to dry between coats, pretty easy to do...
