Does anyone know if there's going to be another Alternative Fuel Fair in Lacey this year? I hope so, I've enjoyed seeing Prius owners and even the other alternative vehicles.
Lacey Grand Prix Electric Car Races & Alternative Fuel Fair Saturday, May 5, 2007, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Huntamer Park in Woodland Square For Information: Lacey Parks and Recreation, (360) 491-0857 It's the fourth listing down.
That's all well and good, but I notice that Toyota is not a sponsor and so far no one else has indicated they plan to attend. Last time we had 4-5 Priuses there and the Toyota mechanic brought part of an engine to look at. We had a very good attendance. In fact, in the two years I've been there, I don't remember ANY Honda owners bringing their cars and no other hybrids brought be owners. We're the only ones who actually bring real, live hybrids to the event.

well i dont know if we are going to have any official display there like in years past, but i will definitely be there in any event.
I hope some others make it. It would be a shame if there were just two of us. I can't imagine why Toyota of Olympia isn't interested in a serious showing. Given the price of gas I suspect our two cars will be very popular. I'll see you there Dave! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveinOlyWA @ Apr 15 2007, 11:05 AM) </div>
Where and what time? My wife is in town, but has no plans for the weekend at this point! That may change by Saturday, but for now. looks like an entertaining event! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jgerecht @ Apr 29 2007, 04:36 PM) </div>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(chappie @ May 2 2007, 08:50 PM) </div> See my post above. I'm going to try to drive up from Portland in the morning, so I may not be there for the start.
well its basically an all day thing. 9 to 4ish. actually electric call rally starts about 11 or 12 i believe and the event is over when the last car dies. there are a few classes so actual end time is variable. was just after 4 last year. the "race" is actually an endurance rally. as we all know, whats important is how far you go and not how fast you race between redlights. so the winner is not who finishes first, its how many laps you can go before your car will not go any further. because of new baby, will be there this year as visitor only but will be very interested in meeting any Priuschatters down there.
It was a fun day! I saw John Gerecht there. I parked my 2007 next to his 2005 and we told lots of people about the "standard" Prius. A guy had a CalCars plug-in mod there which was also very interesting. I wish we had seen more PriusChatters! It was cool to watch a Grand Prix electric race – no fumes, no noise! The high school kids who built the racers were great. Wilamette High School in Eugene, Oregon, took home the top honors.
Dang I couldn't make it this year. Got the invite from Kathleen to attend but my stupid passport still isn't here and they have my birth certificate which is the other piece of ID I need to get over the border both ways. How was the weather, like in years past? The CalCars guy was there last year as well. Much bio diesel stuff on display? gaaaa I wanted to be there.
was there for a little. weather was cloudy but no rain. sorry i missed you Bill. i did see John there. had son with us and unfortunately our time is greatly controlled by his feeding schedule. was able to watch a bit of racing and see the cars there. had very impressive display from Western Wa University with its Methane-electric hybrid using basically cow patties for fuel. with a 400 mile range it was more than practical
