    Hello SF Bay area folks,

I'm considering to purchase a Shark Fin antenna for the Prius standard radio reception.
    http://priuschat.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/30

Before I make the purchase, I'd like to know if anyone in the SF Bay area has installed one and how the reception is. If you can tell me what part of SF Bay area you live in and the strength of the reception (options below)

    SF Bay area
    1) SF (city)
    2) Peninsula (Redwood City, San Mateo, South SF, Mountain View, Palo Alto, etc)
    3) South Bay (San Jose, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Los Gatos, etc)
    4) East Bay (Oakland, Fremont, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Walnut Creek)
    5) North Bay ( Napa, Sonoma, wine country, etc)

    Signal Strength
    A) Strong
    B ) Medium
    C) Weak

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I live in Northbay - Petaluma. The SF stations, like Live 105 & KFOG 104.5 are not good here, some days they come in tho, but when I get to Novato there are fine. Glad there is a cd player.

    *bump*

I am curious about this as well. I live in the SF East Bay area, and am very interested in the sharkfin.

I don't do a Lot of FM listening, but there is a local AM news station that I listen to daily during my commute and I would be disappointed if I lost their signal. (740 AM, KCBS)

I also plan on wiring my Sirius into the sharkfin if I can; but I don't want that to make reception even worse. (Sirius suggests that their antenna be at least 3 inches away from the cars FM antenna =/ )

I live on the Peninsula. I didn't notice any change in reception after installing my shark fin. All the radio stations still come in, no static, etc. I don't remember all the stations I have programmed, but I can tell you that NPR works fine before and after.

could be good enough for me.

If you have a sharkfin already; maybe you can check how well you get AM 740 and FM 105.3 ?? Those are the only two regular stations I listen to, now that I have my Sirius =D

I've had my Sharkfin for over a year now and reception hasn't skipped a beat. I commute from San Jose to San Francisco just about everyday and all my favorites come in clear. (105.3 106.9 107.7 740AM)

I'm in Modesto (90 miles E of S.F.) and with my sharkfin I get am 740 fine and am 810 rather weak. My FM is fine for 104.4, 91.3, 91.7 and 105.5 but those FM's are not Bay area stations.

I think in the BA you will be fine with a SFA. Use your ipod or sat. for extended trips.
