I had to bring a sheet of plywood home in the Prius it fits it was cut in half though. but I was still impressed that all the room when you fold down the seats.

Well that just made my day. And reminds me...

I saw this guy in a HUGE truck (lifted F150) the other day. He needed to get up to the loading dock for something. There's a curb cut, but it was blocked with cones. All he has to do is drive up the curb next to him (with his 4" of lift and 22" chrome wheels) - but no. You had to see it to believe how foolish it looked when he insisted that the cones be moved so he wouldn't have to go over a curb (that he was being pointed to by the dock workers) smaller than I've managed with the Prius on several occasions.

I think the curtain rod thing still beats mine though. Wonder what he did? Bent it in half? Went to rent a Prius?

 

You could have offered to carry it home for him.

I had a similar experience when I bought a big birdcage. Well sort of big for the size of birds I have. I rolled the cage out of the store and a guy with a Ford Taurus laughs at me and says you’ll never fit that cage in your pos. (oh he was taking apart a smaller cage to fit it in his car because it would not fit in the back even with the seats down because of the angle and the way the throughput is shaped.) I didn’t say anything I just put my seats down opened the hatch, removed the sunshade thing, slid the cage in and closed up my car, and drove off. He flipped me off when I drove by; I just waved.

I still choose the prius just for the space.
I love hatchback.
Why is prius more expensive than civic H here in canad, in US civic is more expensive

Except for full-width (4' x 8') plywood, there's nothing I can't get in my Prius that I could get in my Taurus Wagon (This was a '90). There are some things I can get in the Prius that I couldn't get in that wagon.

Just a guess: Maybe the "base" Prius in Canada has more features than the "base" Prius in the U.S.? I think you only have two packages, a base pkg and a premium pkg. We have more different combinations, so if the base packages are different it would explain the price anomaly.

Is the HCH more expensive in Canada than in the U.S. after you adjust for the exchange rate?

 

You (and I) need to ge some of those fake tickets to put on gas guzzlers like V8 trucks (I'm assuming the one you encountered was one). The tickets might explain how v8s polute so much more than hybrids and are part of the problem, not the solution. It might be bad Karma and an example of Prius smugness, but it would be fun to watch the response (from a distance).

I think it would just make the gas-guzzler drivers angry. Increasing the total amount of anger on the roads, just makes the roads less safe than they already are. And if some baboon happened to see you putting the "ticket" on his truck, he might just follow you to your Prius and key it, to get even.

Yea, there's NO way I'd do that. I love my Prius, but I would not push "ideoligies" on to other people. At least in a way that seems so confrontational... Just like smoking, people know what the cons are to what they are doing...
