There is a storage bin on the front of the console by the floor. During my orientation my dealer didn't show it with the rest of the features, I found it by reading the manual. You almost need to stand on your head to see it. I've been putting my billfold there when I go to the gym, I figure anybody who breaks into the car would not know its there. 1) How long did it take you to find it in your Prius? 2) Did you not even know it's there?

Your right though my salesman never mentioned it when pointing out all the storage, but I shouldn't be surprised he said B on the shifter stood for Battery mode
Our salesman was very familiar with the prius and showed us everything including the tow eyebolt in the spare area and how it works. He must have been bored that day lol but as far as the storage compartment, we have a dog and the wife keeps sandwich baggies in there for when we walk the dog and pick up after him. I do like the wallet idea .

I found this previous thread, looks like the longest it took someone to find it was almost a year! This thread has other "secret" things any owner should know about too. http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=1...mp;#entry249027
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(abq sfr @ Apr 13 2007, 04:57 PM) </div> A secret one? Do you mean the bin below front cup holders? - Piotr
it's in the owner's manual, so it's not secret. The boyz in the hood know all about it. Your salesman didn't, but--so?
I'm not sure the current administration knows about that drawer, so I've been keeping my civil liberties in there, hoping they're safe for the rest of this term.
SECRET?? 2007 Owner's Manual, page 2, Item 8 "Auxiliary Boxes" shows both the drawer in the bottom front of the center console and the small compartment below the radio, CD player controls. Not really so secret. Amazing how much useful information can be found in the Owner's Manual.
I read about it here. Albeit a couple years ago. So, no, I didn't know about it originally and had to be told about it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TonyPSchaefer @ Apr 14 2007, 06:02 PM) </div> Well, in general one has to be told everything about a new car, one way or another.... The question is, does one ignore the manufacturer's documentation and simply expect that osmosis will occur? Or just go around asking questions? I expect to have to read the Prius manual, without question. It's too high tech not to.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Charles Suitt @ Apr 14 2007, 01:44 PM) </div> ... Well, it's secret because one can only find out about it by reading the Owner's Manual. Like anyone's ever going to do that ...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(darelldd @ Apr 14 2007, 01:03 PM) </div> Me too. I use it to store my portable XM radio when it isn't in use.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Masnyd @ Apr 14 2007, 09:26 PM) </div> I have thought about that, but it doesn't lock, so that's not a good thing. I still can't believe that the Prius doesn't have any locking storage bins. Oh, and back on topic, my salesman showed me the "secret" bin.
How 'bout if I stuff my Owners' Manual into the secret bin? Then, if I forget that the bin is there, I won't be able to look in the manual to find it again....
ROFL... it must be the Prius Gun Rack! Move over Texas truck drivers. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Masnyd @ Apr 14 2007, 06:26 PM) </div>
I keep my towel for wiping off the front windshield and screen in there. Because you should always know where your towel is.
Dealer showed me. I keep my registration/insurance plus a little notebook which has all my fuel purchases written down.
