http://www.reuters.com/article/environment...236529920070412 What sickens me is that Congress is supposed to be watching out for us.
I saw a blurb on the Chicago News channel the other day that said Midwest farmers are already complaining about the increase of grain prices to feed their livestock due to it's increased use in ethanol creation. Went something like this article:
It's also made ethanol way less profitable. When oil was $60+/barrel and corn was $2/bushel corn ethanol was very profitable. With corn at $4/bushel not so much. This is all a good thing. Farmers would love to sell their ag residue as a feed stock for either cellulosic ethanol or biomass to liquids (BTL) or other technologies. Agricultural waste has huge potential for liquid fuel production. More so than corn ever did.
Maybe they should feed them grass instead, if corn gets so expensive. Then they don't have to buy those expensive antibiotics, hormones, etc to keep them healthy; they can just eat what their systems were designed to eat, their natural food source.

On the farms, they graze, eat hay or "sileage" made from cane and corn stalks. I have heard there are some problems with food being more expensive in areas where corn products are a cheap staple, like in Mexico.
