How does one remove the headliner? Has anyone ever done it? I am thinking of using the existing hole for the AM/FM radio and replacing the current receive antenna mount with a NMO mount for a dual band ham antenna. I will probably relocate the AM/FM antenna to the right front part of the Prius. I tried a lip mount arrangement on the right front side of the hatchback but still got water intrusion despite the use of a RG-174 feeder coax through the weatherseal. Rick #4 2006
Very nice! Thanks for the write up!, I was lookin to rip out the headliner eventually to get some sound deadening up there. It looks pretty easy and straigtforward.
That hardest part is getting those plastic plug things out. The second hardest part is not losing them once they're out. :lol:

Everything else was pretty easy after that, though I wouldn't describe it as straightforward. I didn't want to disconnect all the wirings that were taped onto the headliner so I left the headliner inside the car as I worked. Turned out not to be too bad. Just took a bit more time to move around, that's all. Putting the headliner back was not terribly difficult, once I figured out to first plug in the visor clips to hold the front end up. Hi guys. My 2008 Prius is being repaired for hail damage and for that they are replacing the roof. They claim the car is ready but I there were several details one of them being a sagging headliner. Since you guys have a lot of experience with that, I was hoping you can give me some guidance on what's normal sagging. Is an inch too much for a 2008? Is the fix to replace the headliner? Thx.
