Paid $3.10/gal for Shell regular unleaded in San Jose, CA today. That's actually below the avg. for my city ($3.173) per http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/CAmetro.asp.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Atreides @ Mar 16 2007, 09:22 PM) </div> Here (to the west of London, UK) I paid £0.88 per litre yesterday. This is $6.466 per US gallon or $7.767 a British gallon. (£4). In real terms this is much the same price as it has been here for years, although most people (especially older ones) tend to ignore inflation when they compare prices from the past, and think this is high. But the perceived high cost of fuel doesn't seem to deter people from buying and using cars. There has been a noticeable increase of traffic here in recent years and you rarely drive anywhere now without having other cars in front and others behind. And also meeting waits of several minutes at lights or at major junctions.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Atreides @ Mar 16 2007, 09:22 PM) </div> Filled up yesterday at $2.34.9 here in the Rio Grande Valley
Anywhere from $2.77 to $2.89 for regular, and over $3 for Premium. Diesel $3.11 and up. Makes me glad I bought the Prius. I filled it the first time yesterday, $23.05 to fill it, Huge difference, the Truck I normally drove would have been upwards of $70+ for the same amount of miles.
I hadn’t filled up in about 2-3 weeks and yesterday I paid $2.73 and 9/10 for regular. I am in Norfolk Va. I was shocked at the price and it is supposed to get higher this is going to suck.
I've seen $2.70-$2.76 (I'm rounding up) for regular. In the last week the prices have gone up over $0.10/gal. The highest volume stations have moved from $2.60 to $2.76 in less than a week.
In Boise where I live, the gas station I use is $2.58 a gallon (including a 3¢ a gallon club discount) for regular unleaded.
It's good to see that the prices are influencing folks. I was chatting with Gary, my barber. I noticed my Prius and was telling me that he's always bought performance cars and the like.. He has a '93 Tahoe that was getting 12 MPG and he had had enough. He bought an Altima 4cyl over the weekend. He mentioned that this time FE was a big part of his decision.
I saw the sign at our local WalMart with $2.69. My son drives my old 93 Camry and said, "About 10 cents a mile. That's a bargain. How much do you pay for bottled water?"
I bought gas during lunch today (here in the Silicon Valley). Regular at local stations ranged from $ 3.26 - $ 3.35 / gallon. I can hardly wait to see the quarterly financial statements for Exxon and others for Q1 of 2007. Keith
Avg is $3.278/gal for regular where I live per http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/CAmetro.asp. My Z is low on gas (requires premium) but I'm holding off for a little while until prices come down a bit now that the Iran released the British sailors and tensions have died down a bit.
