On the 2004 Prius modle sold in Australia we only get the one 12v outlet in the console. I need to put an aditional outlet in my vehicle on the drivers side ( yes righthand side ) I have invesigated under the dash, can anyone give some advise to where to start e.g Connection point to source to power from, I will be using it to power a portable navigator. Pat.
Are you certain you don't have 2 outlets in the front? One on the kick panel b/w the driver and passenger footwell and one inside the center arm rest?
Have searched to vehicle iv conduct another tomorrow morning. Thanks for the tip. Pat, in the US model the one near the passenger's knee has a black plastic cover with sort of a pinch handle over it.
[attachmentid=7377][attachmentid=7378] I installed two (2) 12V outlets in the center hump plastic after adding a "tap" to the fuse block. I don't like splicing into existing circuits, so I added a seperate fused circuit for my mods. TOtal cost was US$20 for the two outlets, the "tap" circuit.
I have this; it's like it was custom designed for the Prius: http://www.bellautomotive.com/asp/product_...ls.asp?id=25209 I found it at a local Target. It comes with some Velcro squares; I simply stuck the hook portions to the bottom of this unit, and it sticks like glue to the carpet right on the center hump. It's just the right size and everything. [attachmentid=7386]
